Entah ko

I am frustrated with some people whom I call my friends. Feeling quite sad, to tell you the truth. I mean, have you ever felt that? That everyone hates you and the reason why you’re in their company is because they have to? Because they don’t know how to say no? Because they’re so scared of hurting your feelings?

Hah. See if I’ll ever sacrifice anything for you again. You watch.

That aside. Time for normal updates.

Mr. SBC called when I was working tonight! I don’t know if it was a pleasant surprise or otherwise. Wink Kidding. I’m going to watch the repeat of the 2nd round of the boys’ performances on American Idol. I’d accepted my colleague’s duty swap (I have to call it something, I don’t know what it’s really called), and had forgotten that AI was on tonight!

Dang.

But worry not, SBC rang and told me he was disappointed that I haven’t got an AI review up on this blog yet. Ha ha. (Oh, look, he has already commented.)

Got to freshen up and head back downstairs to catch AI.

I’ll reply to those comments soon, yea? Smile

Added: Okay, no, I’m catching the repeat tomorrow. Too tired. Have fun, and updates tomorrow!

A box of matches?

This.. is just unreal. You have to click it, let it load, put on your headphones, and click go. You just have to.

It felt real, it’s scary. Serious.

Crown glory

I’ve been meaning to get a new haircut since Friday, and today, I did! (No before and after shots, sorry. Hey, you can ask Maurina, though. She saw me with my old hairdo this morning, when I was in UBD for the Study At UBD thing.)

AFTER.

I got my fringe back, but this time it’s shorter and meaner. I’ve also got my layers (from yesteryears) back.

Guess what? I love it. Smile

Just nonsense

Every time this household gets a little tense because someone’s stressed out, I have the mood to post. I love having to write about something else to divert my attention from just thinking about what’s the next step, or the next thing, to say to them. Anyway.

I was out to Frankie’s, and I quote, simple CNY lunch, midday today. Love the simple food, and the spicy sambal! Goodness gracious, that was some sambal. I never really get bothered about a little heat, but that was some HOT sambal. I had to ask Frankie for cold drinking water. And I rarely ask hosts to get me anything other than what they have to offer.

I then had to go early because I made plans with Izzah since last week. I was fifteen minutes early, then I decided to fill the car’s tank because I plan to get around a great deal around the district. (I ended up not having to.) I wanted to check if pay was out, but the ATM over at the TAIB petrol station was out of order, so I went to the Kiulap ATM

Never have I seen such a long line before! Well, I purposely avoided ATMs during the bonus period last month, so I wouldn’t know how it was then. Are Bruneians that in need of money after less than 30 days (give or take a few)? My parents are saving B$200 for the past few months because we don’t have a housekeeper yet, so that’s a good thing.

Oh, I know.. bills. I hate bills. I wish they would just disappear. But I know they won’t. Ever. Unless I lose them. In all seriousness, I’ve got a few to pay. My E-Speed2 bills have been piling up, so I’m thinking of paying my whole paycheck for this month to pay half of it. But then again, there’s my credit card. ISH!

So I said to myself, whatever, and didn’t get to check whether or not I’ve got my pay out. (I’ll update you tomorrow whether or not I’ve gone rich by a few hundred Bruneian dollars.) Met up with Izzah at Coffee Zone, and I realized that I missed her a lot. Am going to miss her more when she leaves. Frown

I’m just waiting for the zip folder that contains pictures that Fendi wanted to completely be uploaded. Damn. 20KB down, 270KB to go.

Time for bed is the best time to avoid the people in this family.

Also, I’m somewhat happy that Jennifer Hudson won an Academy Award for best supporting actress, I don’t know why.

Appreciation & Farewell

You like the header? Haha, it’s a summary of the night of the appreciation dinner. They’re just three of my favourite pictures.

This post may take a while to load, so don’t forget to click the link to carry on! Smile

It’s either easy for you to find me, or it’s as tough as hell. My mom took longer than I expected, thinking that she gave birth to me and watched me grow before her very eyes and everything. But she took two minutes to spot her daughter.

Click here for a larger image, if you’re interested.

I’m going to get ready for a few things, one of them being the appreciation dinner, so I’m going to post a proper entry soon and reply to your comments sooner than that.

P.S.: To any girls yang terasa about the reporting to my boyfriend bit, it’s not you. (Ahem.) It’s for a boy.

.. and now the girls

I came home from work today, forgetting that tonight was the girls’ turn. I tuned in by the time Melinda Doolittle’s was over and was given a few comments by the three judges. I really, really like Melinda, because she seems so humble and sweet.

So I only managed to catch Alaina Alexander, Gina Glocksen and Lakisha Jones perform.

Alaina sucked (I wonder why she’s in the top 24 when she sang), I loved Gina’s performance, and Lakisha was just too perfect, in my opinion. I love the song by Jennifer Hudson that Lakisha sang, so I might be biased the way I was with Back At One by Jared as well. Haha. But I really loved her performance. Her voice was.. wow.

Then there was that recap, which is really AI showing how to vote but doesn’t show up in Star World’s screen, and at first, I thought I was going to stay and watch the repeat at midnight, but.. I wasn’t interested. It didn’t look like much fun.

Here’s a list of what the girls sang tonight (via AI News Blog):

  • Alaina Alexander: “Brass in Pocket”
  • Amy Krebs: “I Can’t Make You Love Me”
  • Antonella Barba: “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”
  • Gina Glocksen: “All By Myself”
  • Haley Scarnato: “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now”
  • Jordin Sparks: “Gimme One Reason”
  • Lakisha Jones: “And I Am Telling You, I’m Not Going”
  • Leslie Hunt: “(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman”
  • Melinda Doolittle: “Since You Been Gone”
  • Nicole Tranquillo: “Stay”
  • Sabrina Sloan: “Never Loved a Man The Way That I Love You”
  • Stephanie Edwards: “How Come You Don’t Call Me”

I just remembered something. To those who watched the whole thing did Antonella Barba’s performance suck? Because judging by the short clip on the recap, it seemed like her performance stank.

Tomorrow’s result night!

The boys’ night

Did anyone watch tonight’s American Idol? I was practically squealing like a schoolgirl at Jared Cotter’s rendition of Back At One. Okay, I might be a bit biased because Back At One’s one of my all-time favourite songs, and I don’t want to say it sucks in any way, but I loved, loved it.

However, I hated Chris Richardson’s version of I Don’t Want To Be. It was terrible. He made it his own in a way, but very badly. It was funny how Randy Jackson mistook the song to be Edwin McCain’s instead of Gavin DeGraw. LOL. Anyway, that’s the third time that DeGraw’s I Don’t Want To Be was sung on American Idol, and the first time that an American Idol contestant sing it badly. Blech.

Somewhere Only We Know, originally sung by Keane, which Blake Lewis performed, was perfect. I loved this one, too. And I’m not so much a big fan of the song.

In other news, Nick Pedro made me nostalgic by singing Now And Forever; very, very disappointed with Rudy Cardenas’, Brandon Rogers’, Sanjaya Malakar’s and Phil Stacey’s performances. Tsk tsk. And what was up with Sundance Head? I thought what he sang sounded more like “I love yo” rather than “I love you.” Serious.

Here’s a list of what the boys sang tonight (via AI News Blog):

  • A.J. Tabaldo: “Never Too Much”
  • Blake Lewis: “Somewhere Only We Know”
  • Brandon Rogers: “Rock With You”
  • Chris Richardson: “I Don’t Want To Be”
  • Chris Sligh: “Typical”
  • Jared Cotter: “Back at One”
  • Nicholas Pedro: “Now And Forever”
  • Paul Kim: “Careless Whisper”
  • Phil Stacey: “I Could Not Ask For More”
  • Rudy Cardenas: “Free Ride”
  • Sanjaya Malakar: “Knocks Me Off My Feet”
  • Sundance Head: “Nights in White Satin”

Tomorrow night will be the girls, but I won’t be able to catch it due to work. Boring. But I’m definitely looking forward to Jordin Sparks’ and Melinda Doolittle’s performances. Let me just check re-runs of the girls’ turn.

That’s how it looks like on Star World. LOL. Hope it’s not that confusing.

So an update on how life is going at the moment. (And I’m going to use the <strike> feature, sorry poklens.)

  1. UBD application forms (that had cost me B$5) — had to be filled in in three copies! I forgot just how troublesome it was for me nearly three years ago when I was done with sixth form.
  2. That said, I have to photocopy and certify all my certificates to go with the application form.
  3. I haven’t started on the speech I’m supposed to give for CIS department’s appreciation dinner for graduating class of 2006. And the dinner is in FOUR days’ time.
  4. My desk is so messy, I can’t see the top of it — and it’s making me so kusut. Not kidding.
  5. I have yet to pay the rental deposit for my graduation robe. Deposit: B$150!!
  6. I am broke.
  7. That said, I don’t know how I’m going to pay the B$35 for the appreciation dinner.
  8. Also, I don’t know how I’m going to pay for the passport-sized photos that need to be attached to UBD application forms.
  9. My boyfriend’s giving me a hard time.

And I’m left with four! Interesting how things take a turn like that. And can some of you please stop reporting to my boyfriend about what I’ve been writing in this blog? I’m trying to make him read it for years now, so let him read it on his own. Razz

The day after tomorrow is Brunei Darussalam’s 23rd National Day.

Just some random info for my non-Bruneian visitors.
