ARGH!

In an even worse mood right now. Seriously. Where is the silver lining? It’s been more than three effing days! GIVE ME A BREAK!

I’m going on a downward spiral.

A few problems that have been bugging the hell out of me:

  1. UBD application forms (that had cost me B$5) — had to be filled in in three copies! I forgot just how troublesome it was for me nearly three years ago when I was done with sixth form.
  2. That said, I have to photocopy and certify all my certificates to go with the application form.
  3. I haven’t started on the speech I’m supposed to give for CIS department’s appreciation dinner for graduating class of 2006. And the dinner is in FOUR days’ time.
  4. My desk is so messy, I can’t see the top of it — and it’s making me so kusut. Not kidding.
  5. I have yet to pay the rental deposit for my graduation robe. Deposit: B$150!!
  6. I am broke.
  7. That said, I don’t know how I’m going to pay the B$35 for the appreciation dinner.
  8. Also, I don’t know how I’m going to pay for the passport-sized photos that need to be attached to UBD application forms.
  9. My boyfriend’s giving me a hard time.

I know there are still some things I have forgotten about because I only have space for so much, but these will suffice. So if you want to come and mess around with me, THEN BRING IT, B*TCH!!

Definitely in a worse mood than yesterday. (Thus, replies to comments will be done on a much later date.)

Hmph.

Bad mood. Go away.

On another note, my parents bought me a new set of drawers that I simply adore.

Talk about communication breakdown.

Happy CNY 2007

Going out to all my Chinese readers (all three of them — kidding),

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!! :D

Kitty

Meet Snowby. (Pronounced snow-bee.)

001kitty.jpg

My uncle gave him to us because he heard the news that one of my sister’s cats wandered around outside the house and never came back. He was a small kitten (whose fur used to be whiter than how it looks in the picture) that never made a sound. He was the first feline that I was not scared of. First cat I’ve held! (I’m usually terrified of cats.) He was also first thought a girl. We named him Snowbelle. When we found out it was a he, we renamed him Snowby.

Almost all the animals we take in grow fat. Except for my sister’s pet turtles. It’s no surprise, though, all the cats do is sleep and eat. Snowby loves to sleep by the television. He rarely makes a sound, but when he does, it either means he wants to be pet or needs to go to the toilet. He literally goes to the toilet and ignores his sandbox. We didn’t even train him.

Out of all the cats that we have been keeping, Snowby is the laziest. His sleeping position is often that of a human being, though. Sometimes on his back, and other times, he uses a cushion/pillow. Like so.

002kitty.jpg

He takes a bath twice every week, and if he gets really stinky, thrice. I never give him baths, though, I’m not really over my fear of cats. My dad does all the dirty work. Hehe.

My Snowby is a cute and adorable one. (When he is not dirty and smelly.)

Six weird things

I’ve been tagged by Tiq!

“Each player of this game starts out by giving 6 weird things about themselves. People who get tagged need to write in a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names.”

I’m such a weird freak, I do not know where to start! LOL. (SBC, maybe you can contribute! Not that you know me much. Ha. :P)

  1. I have a scar from an operation to remove my appendix and it is half-visible because the doctor gave up on completely fixing the whole scar because I told him to “be gentle”. I was a kid and was scared of the hospital and everything the hospital staff was going to do anything to me, I always assume that it was going to hurt. I now think that the doctor was such an ass for quitting halfway. It looks weird now.
  2. I talk in my sleep all the time. I consider that weird.
  3. I love to doodle hearts whenever I’m bored.
  4. I think I know everything. (Is that weird?)
  5. I hate lined paper, except when I’m making lists. Sometimes even then I hate lined paper.
  6. I have a weird snigger.

Those aren’t even weird. Maybe I should add another one that says, it is weird that the things I just listed aren’t weird. All right, tag six friends. Let’s see. Di, Izzah, SBC, Nonnie, Ka Ety and Ka Zian.

Anyway! WordPress.com have this feature now..

$latex i\hbar\frac{\partial}{\partial t}\left|\Psi(t)\right>=H\left|\Psi(t)\right>$

..for all the Math geeks, as they say. That’s one of the things that I like about staying at WordPress.com. The fact that it is maintained by people who created WordPress and they know what they’re doing. (And did I mention Matt was kind of cute in a geeky way? Oh, I did.)

Moving on. I was talking to my mom about what I should wear for the appreciation dinner for CIS graduating class of 2006 (oh God, that sounds so cool), because it’s formal and the theme is white and blue. Black and red would’ve been snazzier, but whatever floats their boat. (I’m thinking black and red because it’s the colours on our customized CIS shirts, and I’m thinking that it’s our official colour of sort, but maybe they’re sticking to official colours of ITB. Maybe.)

So yea, I already figured out what outfit to wear, white top, black pants and all.. and my mom suggested that I could use all sorts of blue accessories. I’ve already got a really nice, blue, beaded cuff. My mom suggested blue earrings, and that was fine. Then she said jokingly, “Maybe blue contacts?” (She knows I don’t like changing the colours of my body parts — not even my skin, I don’t use skin whiteners per se, but my current facial wash [bought by my mom] is. It’s Lancome, it’s supposed to be good. Ahuh.) So I retorted, “Ha. Ha. Maybe I should dye my hair blue!”

She doesn’t mind other people’s kids changing their hair colour, but she hates it when I even have the notion to. Like never. I like my black hair, thanks very much. I mean, it’s the way it is because I kept up with my dad’s coconut oil he kept putting in my hair when I was little. My hair used to be so black, it was literally metallic blue when under bright sun. It was just recently my hair colour changed a bit under the sun. (Why am I telling you this? LOL.)

I received a funny text message from a colleague.

“Hey Tin Tin, you’re evil. The biscuits nice but it’s going to make me fat and have pimples. Evil.”

I edited a bit, but it didn’t change the meaning to the whole text. It made me chuckle. I rarely receive text messages like this anymore.

S&C

I just finished watching The Sisterhood of The Travelling Pants, and I think it’s quite good. It made me cry by the end of it. It’s going into the list of my favourite movies, hehe. Izzah told me ages ago to watch it, and I didn’t get the chance to, but it was on this afternoon on HBO. I was just helping my mom with CNY’s orders. You see, my mom makes biscuits and sells them off to people who would, well, like them. Orders usually come truckloads during local celebrations like Aidil Fitri, Aidil Adha, Chinese New Year, etc..

So I was just helping put the biscuits into containers while watching the telly. So far, while doing my allocated task, I have watched The Sisterhood of The Travelling Pants, Shrek 2 and a couple of odd half-hour shows here and there. Yesterday, I watched Fear. Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon were so young! Who would’ve thunk it. And that Grissom fellow from CSI! Haha, he looks so weird without his wrinkles. Only when I watched Fear that I realized Grissom had wrinkles.

Anyway. I had a discussion with the boyfriend about a few blogs in the world wide web. Him and I had a mutual agreement that some websites mistake themselves with blogs. He doesn’t know that I had thought of it earlier, but he doesn’t have to. But yea. Why do some websites think they are weblogs? Identity crisis, perhaps? *shrugs*

I’m going to post about six weird things next. I was tagged by Tiq. But for now, I have to go. I have those biscuits to tend to.

2nd Annual Singapore Trip

The trip to Singapore was as eventful as ever, it was better than last year where my feet woes brought me down and I couldn’t go shopping until the late hours of the night. Yes, it was a shopping trip more than a vacation. More memories were made, as you will see from the pictures to come in this post. I can’t capture all of them, I quit after the second day, because there was just no time to snap pictures here and there.

So we — all nine of us — left on Thursday morning and Liz, Qil and I didn’t waste any time and took the mandatory local airport, foreign taxi and hotel shots.

001airport.jpg
At the Brunei International Airport, during check-in.

002airport.jpg
The two kids were playing with the trolleys and Liz couldn’t help herself but get involved. In this one is Alif, Liz’s brother, and Liz herself.

003taxi.jpg
Last year’s Singapore trip, it was Liz and I who captured a shot in a taxi. This year, it’s Qil and myself.

004taxi.jpg
And that’s only because Liz was at the front passenger seat. LOL.

005hotel.jpg
Arrived at the hotel, and messed around with my camera phone. I’m not good at “messing around” poses, so that’s the best I can do. Hahaha.

006burgerking.jpg
Our first stop after freshening up at the hotel, was Ikea over at Alexandra Road, and we were slaving ourselves over the packaging and whatnot (my aunt has a business reselling Ikea here), and when we finally finished, we ate at Burger King, satisfying my craving for the Whopper. And in this shot, we were Burger Kings. (Apparently girls can be kings.)

006awareness.jpg
After dinner, we crossed the road to do a little shopping. Didn’t catch the name of the place, but most of the shops were closing anyway, so we head back to the hotel to rest. Imagine this: more than five hours in Ikea doing shopping and packaging. Hell, I tell you. Sheer hell.

007vivocity.jpg
So second day. We went to Vivo City by MRT, and couldn’t resist taking a picture here. Haha. Before we arrived, however, we got our pictures taken with a few television stars. Hehe.

009vivocity.jpg

010vivocity.jpg
Qil and Liz decided to take one with Eric Szmanda of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. I, on the other hand..

008vivocity.jpg
..went for him. Mister E-saak of Heroes. Hehe, I still find it funny how Hiro says it “E-saak” instead of Isaac.

011vivocity.jpg
We are not short, they’re just tall!

012candyempire.jpg
Then we saw a piece of heaven at first sight — CANDY EMPIRE!! — and this was officially the first shop we went to (puh-lease, Ikea doesn’t count.) I spent a whopping $50 on candy, and thought I had it bad, but my three cousins and little sister had spent at least $100 each! :O

013banquet.jpg
We ate breakfast/lunch over at Banquet and it was about time I got a shot of the rest instead of just the three of us.

014banquet.jpg
This was placed outside the Banquet (the halal part of the food court) and I was telling Liz on the day we left that I find it weird that people could take pictures standing so straight, with their arms on their sides and no emotion on their faces whatsoever. Liz tried, but her face gave it away. LOL.

015banquetsign.jpg
I haven’t been to Seri Q-Lap Mall before, but I heard the food court was segregated to halal and non-halal. So was Banquet and a lot of other food courts in Singapore. I saw this sign outside the halal part of Banquet. I didn’t intend to take a picture of it because it was so unimportant, but in the end I did, because inside, I saw this..

016banquetsign.jpg
Yep. I thought I was reading it wrong, but no. I was a bit dumbfounded, and I told my mom about it. She explained a bit, but it still didn’t make sense to me. Anyone cares to explain? Hehe.

Moving on!

017outsidevivocity.jpg
While both the parental units went shopping with my little sister.. Liz, Qil, Alif and I went outside. Quite a good, shaming picture of my little cousin. Haha.

018outsidevivocity.jpg
We soaked our feet in the water, and yes, that’s the “little cousin” that I was talking about just now. He’s taller than I am. Go figure.

018crocs.jpg
This made a bit of hoo-ha to the local blogging scene a few days/weeks ago. They have a whole store rupanya! I never knew. Interestingly, my little sister wanted to buy a pair, but I told her not to. Besides, she didn’t have enough money. (Ha.)

From now on, there are only going to be bits and pieces of the trip, nothing too important. Hehe.

019breakfast.jpg
This is the third day, we were having breakfast nearby our hotel. Last year, we spend half our breakfast having it at this place, ordering briyani rice and all the oily goodness there is available. Things that our parents weren’t allowed to have in Brunei. Haha.

019marinasquare.jpg
This was taken at Marina Square on the eve of our departure from Singapore. I was too short to make it look as if I own those wings, so no picture of me with wings. Pity. :P

020mondaynitealrite.jpg
Also at Marina Square. I took it because it reminded me of my colleague’s show, Monday Night Alright.

After we finished looking around a quarter of Marina Square and eating at its food loft, we went to Raffles City. I read over at Amani’s post about her parents bringing back donuts from The Donut Factory, I did a little bit of research, and found out that it was in Raffles City. I was expecting the place to be big, but it was just a kiosk. Liz, Qil and I started lining up at the end of a six-person queue and the lady at the end of the line said, “This isn’t the end of the line, you have to queue at the back there.” She pointed to a caterpillar of a queue that had a gap in between to make way for people to come through. I did not take a picture of the line. I meant to, but I got too tired.

My dad, being one of two heroes in my life, he queued up and didn’t want to budge until he gets a few boxes of donuts. I gave him my money and my mom told him to get assorted donuts. He then told the rest of us to finish our shopping. And so we did. We didn’t go far, though, because we were tired and wanted to rest.

Went back to the hotel by MRT to Somerset. I texted my dad, asking how he was. He said he was still in the lower half of the queue. We then grab a few Slurpees at 7-Eleven, while our moms got to Marks & Spencer for the mandatory cookie-buying spree. LOL. Got to the hotel, then about 20 minutes later, my dad knocked on our hotel room and greeted us with two boxes of donuts from The Donut Factory.

022donutfactory.jpg
Before I could take a picture of both boxes, my little sister was too enthused and grabbed one. I stake-claimed the heart-shaped donut. Haha.

021donutfactory.jpg
I never had Krispy Kremes, so I don’t know if this next statement is valid, but the donuts were heavenly. NYAMAN. Even when it got cold the next day, it was still nyaman. Haha.

My dad calls The Donut Factory as Donut Tiga Jam, which translates to Three-Hour Donut. He waited three hours for the two boxes, and he was told that he couldn’t get more than two boxes. Nyeh. The cashier said they didn’t accept Brunei currency, but I think my dad talked them into accepting it. Haha. (Adakah kadai Singapore inda accept duit Brunei? Bulih.)

That is all for our annual Singapore trip, we’ll see you next year. Hehe. ;)

P.S.: As usual, I bitched and moaned about the fact that Singapore’s public toilets have no running water in the cubicles!

Okay. What did I miss?

What is this? I stop updating for a few days and you stop visiting?! Kidding.

How’s everyone? I’m all right, just a little exhausted.

So.. did I miss anything big?

Update and comment replies soon!

‘Til then!

The flight’s in a few hours’ time, will be leaving for the airport in an hour. Just done saying goodbyes to the boyfriend. Finished the last minute packing. Contact lens solution? Check. Toothbrush? Check.

LOL. Just had to do that overused checklist thing.

Will be gone until the 13th, don’t miss me too much.

Yea, right.

Toodles!

Just saying.

I’ve never been so excited about a blog before. But this.. this is the long-awaited blog of the Serial Blog Commenter — Mr. Cowell. Not the real one, the Bruneian version. Anyway, I’m so excited, I decided to make me one of these for SBC!

sbc.jpg

Yes, everyone bitches about you. He just does it in your face.

(On another note, now that it’s okay, congratulations Izzah for the chance to meet Julian LDW! :D)
