Sugar for my honey

There is something horribly wrong with the text editor of WP.com. It’s not showing the settings that I set them to. Weird.

I’d like to wish two of the people in my life a very happy birthday! to my cousin, Nurul, and my former classmate and friend, Fendi. Hopefully a late text will suffice, I ran out of credit until Marilyn transferred some of hers into mine. (Thanks, Marilyn!)

Unlike last week, I enjoyed tonight’s American Idol performances. I won’t do a review.. I don’t think I’ll ever do another one unless there’s a full blue moon. Razz But.. (I can’t help it) I finally enjoyed Chris Richardson’s performance. His rendition of No Doubt’s Don’t Speak was beautiful. And Jordin Sparks did very well. (She looked like my cousin, Liz. Haha.) And I was impressed with Phil Stacey this week.

As usual, I didn’t like Sanjaya Malakar’s performance. (He once again ruined one of my favourite songs.) And that “mohawk”, what was he thinking? Anyone out there think he needs a haircut A.S.A.P.? Yea, me too.

I honestly wished it was a No Doubt week instead of just Gwen Stefani being their mentor. It’d be nice if they sang No Doubt songs. I can imagine Gina Glocksen doing Just A Girl. Nice. Oh, Gina did well this week too.

My fingertips are hurting because last night I had this thing my parents called “begilir”. I have no idea what it is, but they say it’s suppose to buang angin, whatever is in your body and whatnot. It hurt a bit last night, but I think the guy drove the white pepper seed (?) into a few of my fingernail bed. It’s a bit hard when I’m shampooing and washing my hands.

I am happy with my life at the moment because I finally found a place where I can find clothes that fit me! The downside of this is that it’s a bit pricey, so I can only be happy when their clothes are on sale. Like today, I bought myself a green cardigan for work which had cost me a flippin’ B$102! (New arrival, so no sale.) And a black tube top for B$18.50! Bargain! Hey, it’s for the tops that have somewhat plunging necklines, okay? I won’t go out with a mere tube top! Razz

Talk about splurging.

A Moment To Remember

Oh wow. A Moment To Remember was definitely a tearjerker. Granted, the first half of the movie was boring.. but it was a mere build up to the ending. I couldn’t stop the waterworks when she started to lose her memory bit by bit. There were a lot of memorable lines in the second half of the movie too! Maybe I should have posted up the previous entry first before I watched the movie. LOL.

Definitely a good one. If you’re planning on watching it, then drop by to quality DVD shops, ask for a copy, sit through the boring half, then get a tissue box at the ready for the other. Watch it alone for best effects. Hehe.

Tiny update

Didn’t realize that I haven’t been updating for 4 days now..

Probably there’s just nothing much for me to do besides bum about at home. Well, that and impulsive spending.

Besides impulsive spending, which isn’t much because there’s not much to spend in the first place, I have been watching Princess Hours on DVD. I’ve just finished the series this morning, after I picked my mom from the hospital. I don’t really like the ending, but I like the middle bits of the series the most. The bits at the end just seem so dramatic. It’s like every bit of drama that’s lacking in the beginning comes out at the end, which is a bit too much, I guess.

I do like the songs in the drama, though. Perhaps Love and Stay being the ones I happen to hum along to when I’m not watching Princess Hours. LOL.

Here, knock yourselves out.

Perhaps Love by Howl & J.

Stay (acoustic)

The thing I like with Korean drama is that the process of falling for someone is depicted so clearly, you can’t help but feel what they feel. Or maybe that’s just from my point of view. My Girl is still my favourite, though. The eye candy in Princess Hours is Prince Yul, but sometimes he looks like a kid and his initial hair colour doesn’t suit him at all.

I’m currently watching A Moment To Remember, but I’m on a small break. Haha. Unbelievably, I might add. I don’t take breaks when watching any Korean drama/TV series unless they are boring, or I have to have a toilet break, or it’s changing to another CD/DVD. And sleep. Well, basically I don’t take breaks. I dunno. I’ve never liked Korean movies, they’re too short. They don’t capture much.

But my friends say it’s a definite tearjerker. And I’m going to learn all the basic Korean words so that when Izzah comes back, I know what to say. Hahaha. Hey, what if she’s forgotten Malay altogether? It’s a possibility. So I must prepare myself. Hahaha. Kidding, Zah. (P.S.: I MISS YOU TOO!)

That’s all for my update. For those interested to have coffee, you know how to reach me and where to bring me. Wink

Money matters

Ooh! Not only pay was out, but school allowance was too! Never have I seen so much money in my bank account!

So I brought my parents out to a nice dinner where we can be comfortable and have quality food at the same time: DeliNutreesh. I had salmon steak with mushroom and black pepper sauce, while the parental units both had chicken steak and my sister had the lamb chop. Lovely stuff. Haven’t dined there since the middle of last year.

Planning on getting myself a trim tomorrow. Pamper myself for one last time before I stress out about bills.

L.A.M.B.

I guess I will be watching American Idol next week.

Added: Ruzanna says pay is out! Yippee!

Mr. Bean’s Holiday

My sister and I think Mr. Bean’s Holiday was hilarious. Maybe it was because I wasn’t expecting much from it. But yea, it was funny. The first bits weren’t so, but 20-30 minutes into the movie, my sister and I started to laugh like we were the only two in the cinema. But everyone else was laughing too, so it didn’t matter. I hope. Teehee.

I’m not going to review it, just head into the cinema without expecting it to be funny, and it’ll end up being funny. That’s how I make the movie worth my money. (Not this time, though, yeay!) And there were free popcorn and drinks!

Big thanks to my colleague, John, for giving me the tickets. Smile

Jelly bean

I’m going to watch Mr. Bean’s Holiday tonight. My colleague gave me his mom’s free tickets from HSBC, and I’m going with my little sister since I was a bit harsh to her yesterday about eating my candy bar without my permission. Anyway, I’ve never had free tickets before, so let me show you how it looks like! (Kes iski ni ah.)

Anyway.. I was at The Mall this morning until this afternoon, to help man one of the two ITB booths of the Crown Prince’s CIPTA thingy. Okay, fine, my SDP team’s project was being shown to the public, else I wouldn’t bother coming and staying. So we were there, and the Crown Prince was talking to one of my classmates (Ratz, in particular) about the system. There were three systems there and hopefully, we have showcased at least what students from CIS department, ITB are capable of.

Then I was teasing our lecturers to treat us to some food since it’s pay day, and one of our lecturers, my team’s SDP supervisor, Hj. Rudy, finally caved in. Kidding. Sel and I were a bit surprised that he was for real. (Nada wah, not really. Haha.) So we ate at Swensen’s and filled ourselves with food to the brim. (Thanks again, sir! Grin)

To War, Rosie, Atul and Maurina: I found out the boy’s name! (The boy from yesterday bah.)

I’m a wee bit tired now, going to take a small nap before anything else. Planning to watch The Princess Hours episode 6 soon. I’ve finally gotten over the illusion that My Girl is the best Korean series ever. I sort of told myself that I won’t be able to watch other Korean series because it won’t be as good as My Girl. But, like I said, I’ve gotten over it now. LOL.

Off for my nap.

And to auntie, hello! Fancy seeing you here. Smile

Good day

Today is a happy day.

Will edit this soon. I’m going to catch American Idol now, I’ve already missed one performance.

Added: I’ve decided to stop watching American Idol tonight. After LaKisha Jones not performing up to standards, I went all, “Blah.” Sorry, I’m not going to watch tonight’s show. After reading ledgeridol’s posts and telling all about the songs, they don’t excite me much. There were a lot of great British songs from the 1960’s, but somehow they chose ones that I’m not familiar with, thus I’m hearing for the first time, meaning it’s hard for me to like a song which I’ve only heard once. However, I’m pleased that Blake Lewis has gotten great comments from the judges, but I wasn’t too thrilled on his performance.

Like I said, I got bored.

Anyway, I was out with a few girl bloggers for lunch at Excapade. Rosie, Zippy, Ness, Nonnie, Serene (and two friends), Maurina and I were all munching away on our lunch, waiting for War and Atul to arrive. Both of them arrived after we finished, so they didn’t get to have lunch with us. Atul, War, Rosie and I headed to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf because Rosie’s laptop was there, downloading the torrent to the latest Grey’s Anatomy episode. Am I glad I followed Rosie over there because I feasted my eyes on a little eye candy. Hahaha. Nice. Grin

Oh, I just received a text message from Selina, telling me that our project is going on the CIPTA exhibition tomorrow at The Mall in Gadong! Interesting! Grin I’m definitely heading down there and check it out in the morning.

There was also bad news in the text, because the MRS was postponed to April 7th instead of the aforementioned March 24th on the invitation! How I wish to let them know that I lost B$55 because I couldn’t do a show on this 24th just so I could attend the bloody thing! Now they’ve postponed it?! Sasak ku eh.

I promised myself nothing’s going to ruin my day today because I received a few nice things from the boyfriend when I got home, and it just made me smile so widely and so warm inside.

It’s a good day.

P.S.: SBC, hopefully you get the hint that there will be no AI review tonight. Wink

:)

Tonight has been one of the nights that I’m willing to remember for always. While I was working, I had a caller off air, and received the nicest comments I have ever had from a complete stranger. And what was the nicest, was that he had said, “May Allah bless you.” It made me go “awwh” and actually fumble a lot on air.

It’s just one of those highs that makes you think you want to be in this job area forever.

Anyway, I’ve got more pictures. This time, dare I say, from a listener! (Thanks Darkness Light! Grin)

L-R: Izan, me, Sean, Frankie, Marilyn, John and Izah. (Blocked by Frankie is Mike, and blocked by John is Ruzanna.) Hehe.

reporting.jpg

This is me, along with Mike, reporting live to the on-air studio on what’s happening. I grabbed this photo because never have I seen my thighs look so small! LOL. My face looks funny while I’m talking, though. Fortunately, these aren’t thumbnails and you can’t really view them large. Ha.

I’m still happy by that caller. Thank you!, whoever you are.

For the eyes

I’ve finally gotten the pictures off of the digital camera, and err.. I haven’t got a lot of good ones. LOL. I’ve managed to scrummage through ten, so here they are. Click on them to enlarge. (Because my pretty, new layout doesn’t allow huge-sized images to not be broken.)

The registration counter One of the contestants The judges The technical side of everything My cousins and I At the end of day 1 preliminaries John & Izan Guess who? ;)

They’re a hassle to edit because the original size of one image is more than 1MB. They took a while to edit, okay? So at least there are a few pictures. Razz

I’m going to put up a teaser of what’s to come. (From Marilyn’s digital camera.)

This was taken during the night before Frankie’s 16th 19th birthday. We surprised him on air, and it was so much fun. Smile So expect that in future updates.
