Rodrigo Santoro

I can’t believe I forgot to post about this. Love Actually’s Karl is 300’s Xerxes!!! How can he be so hot in one movie and so freaky in another?! (Hint: No, he wasn’t hot in 300.)

By the way, his name is Rodrigo Santoro and he is absolutely, fabulously hot. I just can’t believe he was Xerxes. I completely didn’t see that.

Oh, and also, 300 kicks Troy’s ass. Serious.

P.S.: I don’t like Love Actually.

I love new things

Ooh! Me likey the new layout. I didn’t see myself using it at first, though. I have a feeling I’m going to have to make full use of thumbnails the next time I upload pictures. Or maybe I’ll just wait for a new layout to be uploaded by WordPress.com. LOL. One of the cons of using WP.com. Anyway. I’ll reply a few comments in this post.

SBC: Bah, I add you soon. As soon as I get online on MSN. Teehee.

Sha: It’s really embarrassing when I think of it, but it happens! I know my kids are going to cringe when they know how their dad and I met. But to us, it’ll simply be another sweet memory. (Hopefully.)

Marilyn: You betcha we had fun! Haha. So many scandalous things to talk about! Seriously, someone should record us talking and people wouldn’t know that Pilihan DJs are so feisty! LOL.

Darkness Light: You are welcome! :) Thanks for coming over. Although I’m not quite sure which one you are. (Care to come up with a name? Hehe.)

You can’t have it all. Period.

I am too beat. Beaaaaaaat. I don’t have the pictures from the P.A.T. 2007 walk-in auditions yet. I don’t know if it was a success or not, but I would like to think that it is. Almost everyone was there, and I was happy about it. I don’t know why. It was fun, especially what happens after. We ate at Capers in Kiulap, and the pasta with the lamb shank (forgot the name of the dish) was brilliant. I loved it. We were having the all you can eat offer, and we ordered four plates of that particular dish. Outrageous, but we finished 3 and a half plates. LOL.

Like I said, it was fun. If there were pictures, I’d show them to you. But I don’t have it now, like I mentioned earlier.

So I was doing Marilyn’s Triple 1 show for her today (you’re welcome! :D) and a newcomer was observing the way I work the console. It was a bit tough having someone there constantly, without s/he being a co-presenter, but I made it. Anyway, when I got home, there was nothing to eat, so I went with my mom to get some late lunch. I had soto, which was very heavy and it’s making me want to sleep. Even now. It’s crazy.

I have to do some light exercises, my mom told me the adrenaline could do me good. Okay, she didn’t exactly say that, but she implied it. Ergh. I’m not a big fan of exercising. Give me netball anytime. (Maybe it’s because I don’t see netball as exercising? Haha.)

Before I go, I might not have to post the locked entry that I said in the previous post. But we’ll see.

I’ll reply to your comments soon. Thanks so much for dropping by and saying hi! Appreciate it. :)

Oh, happy day!

Before I start posting, let me just say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DJ Frankie and my Uncle! — Liz’s dad. And also, a big, hearty congratulations to the Royal couple on the new arrival. Somehow I’m elated that it’s a prince. :)

Now that that’s out of the way.

I am exhausted! I haven’t felt exhausted since I passed my HND and become a semi-bum. I was in the OA studio in Bandar this morning, because I had a slot from 11AM to 1PM. And I had to crossover to the guys at The Mall in Gadong because of the roadshow. Initially, I thought it was a roadshow. But it was just some sort of quarter-hourly report and everything. So that just sort of disrupted the flow of the show I was doing, and I ended up getting a messed-up mind because of it. I’m over it, though.

Anyway. I went to lunch with my family, and we bumped into my dad’s ex-girlfriend from his heydays. That was funny. I didn’t know why I was amused that my parents had exes. I guess in that corner of my mind, I’m still very much naïve. But it’s so cute! My dad had ex-girlfriends and my mom had ex-boyfriends. Who would’ve thunk?

I went to The Mall in Gadong after that, to give moral support. For a post on this matter, I will lock it and will only give the password to the people I know. Thank you, and stay tuned for the said post. ;)

But anyway, I was there from 2PM-5PM, the allocated time for the walk-in auditions. I couldn’t put the whole three hours into words, but I will put them into pictures. Pictures I will put up as soon as I can get a hold of the USB cable for the digital camera. Or whatever they call that cable to transfer the images onto my laptop. There are a few potential Pilihan-Akira Talentime 2007 winners, but we’ll see what the judges say.

Oh, goodness, I am so sleepy now. Will post up entries again soon. ;)

How much?

christian.jpg

This is one of the PostSecrets that keep me wondering who it is! I’m such a busybody. Anyway, as I was saving this image onto my hard drive, the image filename was christian.jpg. You thinkin’ what I’m thinkin’? Haha.

I’ve got new songs to play for work! Yeay! (Other than that, I have got no further updates.)

Okay, no, I just remembered something.

If you’re interested in joining a singing competition, then you might want to check out this weekend’s Pilihan-Akira Talentime preliminary auditions. The Pilihan crew will be there on the 17th and the 18th, from 10AM to 1PM, then from 2PM to 5PM. All you need to be is at least 17 years of age, and you can either be a Bruneian or a non-Bruneian! So it’s basically open to anyone. Just don’t forget to bring IC, or passport, and your song choice on a karaoke or minus one VCD. Try it out, you might be lucky.

Oh, by the by, we’ll be on the 2nd floor of The Mall in Gadong. So drop by. See you there.

You just have to wait

Uh-oh. I’ve got a feeling I’ve got a nasty cold coming up. I just want it all to go away in one, big sneeze! But, of course, it won’t.

As usual, I was reading an American Idol spoiler again, right before the show airs here where I’m from. Unbelievable. Let’s just say, SBC has an obligation to stay tuned next week. Haha.

There’s also another shocker that’s not American Idol related, but I guess it’s not much of a shocker but a lot of disbelief on my part. Mesti tah rezekinya tu. I’ve got to let it go.

All righty, I’ll update later, after a few rounds of netball this afternoon. I can play easy now I know who’s out of the competition. Hehe.

Top 12

If you don’t like reading my American Idol 6 opinion posts, then I suggest you stop here. (Official line to use from now on because I don’t like splitting my posts [unless it's revealing who gets eliminated.] ;))

This week’s mentor was Diana Ross.

Let’s start from the top.. Brandon Rogers. He was a disappointment. Actually, all of the boys were a disappointment. All with the exception of Blake Lewis, but I might just be biased because I have a teeny tiny crush on the guy. Anyway. Back to Brandon, he’s one of my favourites, sort of like a male Melinda Doolittle, but he’s not as good as the said contestant. He couldn’t rise to become a great performer tonight, and that in itself is disappointing. I was hoping that he’d do great.

Melinda Doolittle was the second to go on stage and I’m in awe of her voice, still. I didn’t know the song (so much of self-proclaimed retro on the station), but her voice was fantastic. To be honest, I don’t know most of the songs. But when I do, the contestants butchered the said songs. Tsk.

Speaking of the master butcher, Chris Sligh destroyed Endless Love to a pulp. I never really hated Chris S., but tonight, I really, really didn’t like him because it was horrible. The feeling to the song completely evaporated if it existed in the first place. That was our song and he totally ruined it. I can’t wait for him to go home. I wouldn’t even mind if he goes before Sanjaya Malakar.

Up next was Gina Glocksen, but I wasn’t impressed with her this week. Nothing much left to say.

Sanjaya Malakar was, as usual, flat as a board. Boring to the maximum and he’s nothing like the other contestants, not even Brandon Rogers’ performance tonight. Even Randy Jackson said it was un-listen-able. All I can say for now is, send Sanjaya home, America!

Haley Scarnato faded in the background again tonight, I’m afraid. I didn’t even realize that she had made a mistake because I wasn’t paying too much attention to her performance. One of the first girls that should go.

I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t really like Phil Stacey. He doesn’t cut it, for me. He should work on his low notes, he can’t really do them well, in my opinion.

LaKisha “Kiki” Jones was brilliant. No surprises there. However, it wasn’t one of my favourite performances from her. I loved her the most when she sang And I’m Telling You. Anyway.. I feel that it’s the girls’ year this year.

Blake Lewis’ song made an effect on me, if not a ripple. His vocals weren’t so great, but I loved the song, no matter what the judges say. (Like I said, I might be biased because of the microscopic crush.) I thought that his effort in making the song his own worked, but Chris Sligh’s didn’t.

I liked Stephanie Edwards’ outfit tonight, but other than that, it was another Gina for me. Chris Richardson has got to stop looking and sounding like Justin Timberlake. Okay, fine, at least sound as good as Justin, yea? If it were still the auditions, I’d have a big, fat no for him.

American Idol saved the best for the last tonight. Jordin Sparks’ vocal performance was beautiful. I think she’s pretty, and I think she’ll go a long way in this season. Not liking the song choice, though, but she was brilliant nonetheless.

What the top 12 sang, in order of appearance. Aiseh. (Via ledgeridol):

  1. Brandon Rogers: “Can’t Hurry Love”
  2. Melinda Doolittle: “Home”
  3. Chris Sligh: “Endless Love”
  4. Gina Glocksen: “Love Child”
  5. Sanjaya Malakar: “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”
  6. Haley Scarnato: “Missing You”
  7. Phil Stacey: “I’m Gonna Make You Love Me”
  8. LaKisha Jones: “God Bless The Child”
  9. Blake Lewis: “You Keep Me Hanging On”
  10. Stephanie Edwards: “Love Hangover”
  11. Chris Richardson: “The Boss”
  12. Jordin Sparks: “If We Hold On Together”

Adieu

This afternoon, we bade farewell to one of my greatest friends in this whole wide world, Izzah.

From left: Hamizah, Zawanah, Izun, Izzah, Amni, Amani, Rogayah and Peeps.

Safe to say that the pipes burst at the airport today. We are going to miss you, Zah! (I keep telling myself that she’s going to be back in no time.)

Mizah, Wanah and I went to watch a movie after that. We planned on watching 300, but we missed it.. so we decided to watch Norbit. That was a hilarious movie. I proceeded to watch 300 on my own, after we watched Norbit. I loved it! Loooved it. I don’t mind a few Spartan boys coming my way. LOL.

If anyone wants to treat me out to a movie, then I’ll gladly watch 300 again with you. Hehe.

So I watched America’s Next Top Model cycle 8 on YouTube before they were taken down and the owners’ accounts suspended because of copyright violation, and I have to say, Jaslene takes fierce photos. If you remember her, she was the one who didn’t make the cut in cycle 7.

Spoilers of cycle 8 ahead. View Full Article »

Looking back

classic.jpgLet’s take an old picture and make fun of me. Haha. I found this in Liz’s room when there was a small doa selamat held there yesterday. No, not in her room, at her place. :P Anyway. This is the photo that I cringed the least when looking at me in the past. I still cringe because, look.. those slippers have to stay in the past. And those pants! LOL. Cringe. Totally.

That’s Liz and yours truly, by the way. This was taken in the years when I was still taller than Liz. Haha.

There was this one photo where I was wearing a short, red number and black stockings. Serious. And in that picture I looked as if I was embarrassed. Poser. Will not post it up, it’s way too embarrassing. But let’s share another blast from the past.

Something that I’m sure a majority of Bruneian kids in the 90’s stick on their school books.

Hahahahahahaha. Enough said. That phone number right there, was our old number back at the flat in the capital. Isn’t Smurfette cute? :)
