Pink!

Things haven’t gone well in one of the aspects of my life at the moment. I’m demotivated and bummed out at how things are turning out for May. (I know, in my last post, I was pretty much ecstatic and looking forward to it.)

But I know what keeps me looking forward to May.

sony_cybershot_t50_2.jpg

I’m getting the one in pink because black is sold out, red is the limited edition, thus costs a lot more than the original, and silver is too common. Three out of four of the most important people in my life said I should get the one in pink. And the one who suggested silver changed her mind to pink as well. So.. pink it is. Smile

Good things to look forward to, birthday gifts. Makes things called problems fade in the background for a few moments.

‘Cos y’know.. I’m like that.

Before I go on as usual on my abandoned-for-four-days blog, let me just wish a good friend of mine, Amalina;

HAPPY 22ND BIRTHDAY!!

I know I texted you already at midnight, Brunei time, but you’re just one of my greatest people I know. Hope you have only the good things, the great things, and the best of things. May all the happiest things happen to you, especially the first class degree, and come home soon, we miss you! 22! I’ll join the club in.. 11 days! (Oh, and may you have many more birthdays!)

Oh, also to Miss Saleha, whom I haven’t talked to in yonks, HAPPY 22ND BIRTHDAY, SWEETY!! Grin

All right, shifting back the attention to this blog, there’s a new feature that brings you to random posts by clicking here! (Or you can look over the left sidebar, that enables you to become one of the adventurous! Exciting! Not.

So how have I been? (Thanks for asking. Harumph!) To those who have either met up with me, or called me up, they’d know I’ve been under the weather for around a week now. I can walk and talk fine, but I’m a little manja to those who I’m very, very close to. Coughing a little uncontrollably, which is irritating, especially when I’m on air. There was this one time when I was entertaining a call off the air, I coughed like mad and had forgotten to put the call on hold, and let the caller listen to the hacking. Hahaha.

One other thing that happened at work while I was at work, was when I was having one of my dizzy bouts, and I announced completely different things. It was weird, but I think people would understand. Right?

Other than that, my birthday is coming up soon, and so are my closest friends’ birthdays. A chunk of my closest friends’ birthdays are on April and May, and it started with Saleha’s. Hamizah’s is up next, turning 22 as well, on the 1st of May! Mine is after that, of course, ahem ahem. Then Zawanah on the 11th, then Salwana on the 12th! Yippee! We’re all turning 22! Grin

That’s not all, though. I have family members who turn a year older in May. And I can tell you, there are more than two handfuls! (Meriah jua May ani ah? May babies rock! Grin)

My mom ran out of ideas on what to get me for my birthday this year, and she asked if I wanted B$500 cash. I said I’ll think about it. Then I told her I’ve always wanted the Sony DSC-T50 digital camera. So that’s what I’m getting! Grin My dad? Well, we already made a deal that I won’t be getting any birthday gifts for five years because I got a laptop three years ago when I first started ITB. I’ll be getting another gift when I turn 24, inshaAllah. Smile

So I’m happy I’m finally getting something that I really want. I’m going to have to cross that off my list of birthday things that I have never received. Hehe. I have this one other nagging birthday thing that I’ve always wanted, but feel too pathetic to actually tell someone about it. Hahaha. I’ll have to have thick skin to actually tell anyone about it, so no, I won’t be opening my mouth any time soon.

The month of May is also a month of new things (besides getting brand new age numbers.) I’ll be doing Nite Tune shows every Saturdays, with Pilihan’s own Aaron. I’ll only be co-presenter, so it’s really no biggie, but I like the idea of doing Nite Tune. It’s the only one show that I haven’t done in my two years of service. (Aiseh, service konon.)

Oh! Also in May, I’ll be graduating with my mates from ITB. Very, very excited about this, especially. I collected my rented robe from Ms. Wida earlier this morning, and also my leaving certificate. It’s all very exhilirating!! Eek!

Enough about the month of May, and this post too, because it’s getting a bit too long for my liking. I will update again soon, inshaAllah. Maybe it’ll be less than four days this time, yea? Smile

P.S.: Aunty, I know how to cook. A bit. Wink

Huh?

I had a good post written very intricately in my head while I was on my way sending my sister off to school this afternoon.

Now, I can’t find better words to link them all together.

All I can say now is: It’s different from this standpoint.

It says 278

Phew. What a day. It hasn’t been a hectic one, but it was a boring one. You know, so boring that it tires you? Yea, that type.

I was at the roundtable forum (thingy) by Total in partnership with Asia Inc Forum. To be precise, I was at the projector room, recording the whole thing for work. Since I’ve finished school and I’m not doing anything (and the genius in me notified the boss about it), I was asked to observe the recording. I misplaced — a good alternative for lost — the schedule that my boss had provided me with, but I remembered that it started at around 8AM.

I didn’t want to be late and have trouble with parking, so I departed at quarter past 7AM. Thinking, “Oh no, what about the traffic around schools?” I zoomed my way there, and the parking spaces at the back and sides of the International Convention Centre were empty. I thought, “Did I get the date or time wrong? Where on earth is everyone?” Except for the parking spaces directly opposite the ICC’s entrance, everywhere else was empty. So I parked at the front of the entrance, and made my way to the Dewan Muzakarah.

I asked an usherette where the RTB OB crew were, and she said they hadn’t made their way in yet. Now that I think about it, I think they thought I was talking about the RTB staff that was going to attend the forum. Anyway. So I was waiting and waiting, and I saw one of the OB crew, a woman I wasn’t totally familiar with, but have seen at almost all Pilihan Network’s outside broadcast.

I approached her and asked where we were supposed to be. She showed me to the projector room upstairs and we were completely at isolation from the forum. No one can even hear us. Perfect, I thought.

Then I found out from the lady who was going to record the whole thing with me that the event started at 9AM!! I completely wasted an hour of sleep that I really needed (feeling under the weather today, that’s why.) So she and I sat in this dark, tiny, carpeted room, with space only for one table and two chairs at 8.30 in the bloody morning, and dozed off for 20 minutes.

At around 10 minutes before the event started, I awoke and so did the lady. It’s funny now, in retrospect. Anyway.. the thing stretched on and on until 12.35PM with a small coffee break in between and I bored myself to death. My mobile phone battery ran flat halfway through the event, so I had to stop playing card games on it. There was barely anyone there, really.

I’m somewhat thankful that I was at the ICC early because if I had arrived a minute later, I wouldn’t know where the lady from the OB crew would be stationed, and I would miss the welcoming remarks and the keynote address in the first half hour of the event. LOL.

That was how my morning went. After midday, I napped and made myself feel a little bit worse.

A few moments ago, I was helping my cousins prepare for the birthday BBQ at Liz’s. Which is where I’m currently staying. My dad’s going to be discharged on Monday, so alhamdulillah for that. Other updates?

I’m more in love with the boyfriend more than ever.

Grin

Leave me alone, I’m just being happy.

Off!

Completely unsure if my hiatus is over, but I think and would like to think it is. I am now back in Bandar because I have work, and my sister has school. I’m currently staying at Liz’s house, and I’m literally living out of a suitcase because I haven’t unpacked yet. My mom called me up yesterday to update me with what’s going on with my dad’s recovery, and he’s doing a lot better than the weekend my sister and I were there.

As for me, I am doing well. After I get my regular dosage of the Internet, that is. When I was at my aunt’s in KB, I couldn’t get the proper dose I usually get every other day. So the first thing I did when I got to Liz’s was latch onto their wireless to no avail. I nearly cried because I was so confident I was going to have a good chat with someone I really needed. The next day, I brought my own wireless router from my house and hooked it onto their router. Now here I am. Blogging happily. Hehe.

I miss my room, though.

And my dad. His birthday is coming soon, and I’m thinking of what to buy him. Should I get him new glasses to replace the pair he lost in the accident or a Manchester United jersey? My mom’s thinking of buying him a new phone, so that’s out of the picture.

But most importantly, what are you people going to buy me for my birthday? It’s coming up 17 days before my dad’s, so.. hmm.

Kidding. Or maybe not. Depends on what you’re thinking of buying me. Hehe.

I’m off to bring Liz out for a haircut. I’ll post a funny video of Liz’s brother singing in her room while playing 7 Diamonds later. xx.

<EDIT >

The funniest bit in this video is when he shrugged Liz and I off and continued singing. After watching the video, he finally realized his bad singing. LOL.

</EDIT>

Still on hiatus

An update on what’s happening to my dear dad. According to this article (which I’m going to paste onto this entry later), he suffered minor injuries. He was merely a passenger in one of the three cars.

He was with his friend, on his way back from Kuala Belait, back to Bandar. Another car, a Toyota Kijang, had a tyre puncture while carrying an overload of A4 paper. It collided with the car that my dad was in, and another car from behind had hit them as well.

My dad’s friend, the driver, had suffered a few fractures. A lot of physical injuries. My dad escaped with nothing. Or so everyone thought. After a hard night in the ward of the Suri Seri Begawan hospital, my dad’s suffering from lower abdominal pains. We all thought it was just the impact of the seatbelt he had on during the accident.

Apparently not. To cut a long story short, he underwent operation for two hours at 10 this morning. It’s so hard to see your own father, who rarely gets sick and gets admitted into a hospital, without crying. He went into the O.R. (Grey’s Anatomy is educational after all. ;P), with fear in his eyes.

The surgeons reported to my mom that he had two tears in his small intestine and it wasn’t so damaged that the doctor didn’t have to cut off a part of it. He just had to apply a few stitches, and he was good to go.

He’s now in the Intensive Care Unit, and the last time I saw him, which was barely an hour ago, he was talking about the Manchester United match against Chelsea. I promised him I’ll watch it for him. Anyone have any idea when that match is?

By the way, thank you for your well-wishes. Keep him in your prayers for me, thank you.

Oh, here’s the article.

Three-vehicle collision at Seria bypass
By Liza Mohd

Seria Fire and Rescue personnel at the scene of the accident.

An Indonesian driver lost control of his van along the Seria bypass yesterday morning and caused a three-car collision, which involved two local men and a female driver. The driver was heading to Kuala Belait from Bandar Seri Begawan when he lost control of his vehicle, due to a tyre puncture, and collided with a vehicle from the opposite lane, which led to another rear-end collision with a third vehicle on the same lane.

A local Chinese driver, whose car was run over, suffered head and chest injuries as well as a broken back. He is currently receiving treatment at Suri Seri Begawan Hospital.

Meanwhile, the other two drivers and a passenger, who suffered minor injuries, were also treated at Suri Seri Begawan Hospital.

Seria Fire and Rescue personnel were deployed at the scene, led by Commander Pengiran Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.

On hiatus

I’m on a small hiatus. My dad’s involved in an accident in Kuala Belait, that’s in an entire different district from where I live. Approximately an hour away? Yea.

He’s fine albeit a little traumatized. I’m fine too. Just in case.

Keep the comments coming, I’m looking forward to replying to them. Just not now.

Hey, how’s it going?

I’ve just woken up from sleep, and I won’t bother the boyfriend who’s deep in slumber at the moment. Let me just post a few random things that are swimming in my head. (Mostly it’s about yesterday’s happenings.)

I went out with two big names in the local blogging scene yesterday for lunch. They both have colours in the blog name. Funny, no? They’re Pynk and Turquoise & Roses, and they are two of my good friends. We had ambuyat — a local dish — at Batu Bersurat and had the laugh of our lives. Cali dorang dua ani sebenarnya. While the latter left to watch a movie with her beau, Syaz and I stayed back. We didn’t plan to, but we headed to Taurean Too to sit down and talk more.

I wish I could tell you what we were talking about, but if I did, it would be controversial, MY7THLIFE.NET’s hits would hit the roof, I’ll never be the same again, and you’ll never see me in the same light ever again. Haha.

But anyway. We were talking about things like how to ignore people who are just sensitive to a lot of things, and they’re just a bit too much to handle as friends and we are somewhat better off without them. I have to add, Syaz and I are polar opposites when it comes to handling issues regarding people. Then we just plain bitched about some things like drinking and doing drugs. They’re bad for you, BAD! I know for sure drinking excessively ruins your liver, and it’s your liver and your life, I know, but it doesn’t hurt to tell you they’re not good for you. Teehee.

Then Syaz invited Nadz, whom I haven’t seen and talked to in yonks. Then talked more, until it was time for me to go. I needed to take a shower because I had work in the evening.

It’s raining heavily now. It’s funny, whenever I have an early day ahead, it never fails to rain and make it a wonderful chance to have a nice morning in bed when I can’t. Well, this is just the second time it happened, but I’m simply annoyed by it. I WANT TO SLEEP IN WHEN IT RAINS! Because it feels good to cuddle up in my sheets, I love cold weather.

I digress. I don’t know how to use this, still, and I feel a bit strange using it when I don’t know how. But it seems so professional, doesnt it? Like I know what I’m talking about. Haha.

I digress. Again

I took a shower at Liz’s place, and brought her along to the studio (a boo-boo, actually, because I’m not supposed to), because we were heading to have a sushi dinner after I work. I didn’t want to be late because I really hate eating at a late hour, and I had to pick up my little sister from her tuition class at 9PM, right after my shift. So bringing Liz to the studio saved time. Sue me.

When we got to Excapade, we ate (a lot for three), and we made a new friend out of one of the waiters. Actually, he introduced himself to us after we paid our bill. Haha.

That’s pretty much how my day went, and I felt like sharing. There is nothing like a day where you laugh a lot, and then talk about a few serious issues. And it’s pleasantly surprising that you don’t actually need a lot of friends for that. Smile

What I’ve Done by Linkin Park

You know how hard it is to get What I’ve Done, Linkin Park’s new single? (Okay, I’m a pirate, we’ve got that established.)

whativedone.jpg

I’m glad they moved on from the bracketed LINKIN PARK.
(I’d love a black tee with a white, new logo of LP [not pictured.])

There have been fake ‘leaked’ Minutes To Midnight albums everywhere on Multiply pages, and it is annoying. It’s so hard to find the original song. The album’s not out yet, and the fake one is said to be of Chester Bennington, Linkin Park’s frontman, back in the days when Linkin Park wasn’t formed yet. What band was he in again? I’d forgotten.

So this single.. When I first downloaded it, I didn’t know about this fake leaked album. I was listening to it, and I said, what in the world? It didn’t sound like Linkin Park at all. Believe me, I’m enough of a fan to know how LP sounds like. So I said to the boyfriend how bad the new single was. His reaction, “Andang bida!” Hmph. (For those who don’t speak the language, it’s “They’ve always been bad.”Wink

So, anyway. I was listening to the radio, and Mike was on. Someone requested for What I’ve Done. It was completely different from what I had listened to initially! It was the sound I knew and love. *insert retching sound here*

All right, have a listen.
