There comes a time when you’ve come to a fork in your path. You have to decide.. what do you want to do? What does your heart tell you? What is the right thing to do?
What if the the choice you want to make is the right thing to do, but you don’t have your whole heart in the idea?
If you go for your guts, and you ended up failing, then what? Heartbreaking, no?
So should I download Wedding Dash or not? Hmm.
(Can you tell that I’m bored? Who wants to watch The Invasion with me at the cinema?)
I was out with Zawanah and Amalina this afternoon, watched Hairspray at Cineplex at The Mall in Gadong. Was a bit skeptic about it at first, because I read on her blog entry that she’d rather watch Dreamgirls again. And I didn’t quite like Dreamgirls.
But I loved Hairspray! I think Nikki Blomsky, who plays Tracy Turnblad, was so cute! Hilarious, even.
The cast complimented each other, and I loved that song, Good Morning Baltimore. It reminds me of Ugly Betty, when Justin (Betty’s nephew) was singing it for his father, scared that he might miss Hairspray The Musical.
Pay was out today. I brought my family out for a little grocery shopping, because things in the fridge is thinning and it’s the middle of the month. I also bought ingredients for a baking fest at home, with my sister.
Inspired by Shasha’s cupcakes, I decided to make my own. Like I told her, they’re for personal consumption, and I just thought it might be fun to decorate cupcakes with frosting. I didn’t make them from scratch. The icing, however, I had to ask my aunt how to make it.
But of course! Pictures!
Chocolate cupcakes with pink and white icing. And some coloured rice for my sister’s cupcakes. Piped out our cousins’ names so that we can give it to them tomorrow. Liking the solid “N” I made. Hee.
What’s a personalized cupcake without MY7THLIFE on it? ;)
This is my favourite. It’s so clean!
My sister’s attempts, dotty there, and her name, Jim.
Because of sungkai, we were still full, and we didn’t have a chance to taste any. Hopefully, when we try them out tomorrow, we won’t be disappointed. (More pictures here.)
I’m going to make baked cheesecake tomorrow, inshaAllah, if nothing gets in the way.
I’ve got pictures! And thankfully, I’ve found a great plugin to put all my Facebook albums onto my blog. Nice. You can take a look at all the pictures I’ve just uploaded and the previous ones that were already there before today.
After finishing this single task, I had my eyes on a few other plugins, and after a fair bit of “download and install” action, I had completely forgotten what to post. Okay, that isn’t true. I’m just too lazy to break them all into a few posts. Let’s just put everything in point form, and I’ll lead you to whatever pictures that are available for that point, yes? :)
Qil and her family moved into their new house in Rimba, a minute’s drive away from my house, on Sunday, September 9th. My mom and I were fasting, so we missed out on the food. Ended up enjoying the day, though. Photos here. Please don’t mind the fact that there is no picture of how the house looks like from the outside.
My mom, little sister, maid, and I slept over at Liz’s since last Wednesday up until Sunday because her parents were away for their Singapore business trip, and my mom didn’t want to let them not have proper sahur and iftar while they were gone.
On Wednesday night itself, had a farewell dinner for Fida, a former Pilihan FM colleague, at Fusion Restaurant at The Mall, in Gadong. I tell you this, the food is fantastic! Photos here.
Late Wednesday night to early Thursday morning, the staff of Wardrobes Inc. decided to move things about, and redecorate other things. Photos here.
On Friday, I bought six DVDs for our movie marathon for the night. The movies were: 1408, Dead Silence, Black Sheep, Hot Fuzz, Me.. Myself, and Knocked Up. My take on the movies?
1408 was a waste of time. It was a horror movie, but it didn’t leave an effect on me like most horror movies do. I mean, even really bad horror movies make me have sleepless nights. 1408 was just.. I don’t know. Pointless. Dead Silence was all right. Not much of a scary storyline, but the dolls creep me out. Especially Mary Shaw’s doll. By the end of this movie, I just have to remember that all I have to do is not scream. Black Sheep was stupid. Another movie that wasted our time, and this time, also my money. We didn’t finish this movie. We also had trouble understanding some of what the characters had to say, we resorted to subtitles that didn’t make sense. Hot Fuzz was funny, albeit too long. Nearly three hours, it was. It drove me nuts that it took that long. Me.. Myself, on the other hand, I didn’t watch.. this is because Hot Fuzz was too long, I fell asleep 15 minutes into Me.. Myself, and woke up just in time for the ending. We watched Knocked Up after sahur, and that was funny. The best among the six (five, really) movies I watched in the movie marathon. (Ish, the crowning scene was scary.)
On Sunday, Liz’s parents came home from their Singapore trip, and Liz and her brother rummaged through their parents’ luggage. Had some new things courtesy of Liz’s mummy. Liz was bought a ring, but it didn’t fit, so she gave it to me. Loving the new things I have.
On Monday, I stayed up after sahur, because I didn’t want to go back to sleep as I had to go to RTB for the photo session held for radio networks for the Hari Raya edition of RTB’s newsletter, Gema. Photos here.
Goodness, even after writing in point form is tiring.
I’ll be off for now, I feel like watching While You Were Sleeping.
I don’t know what is up with the song Umbrella, but.. there has been either a remix, or a cover of it everywhere! I personally love Marie Digby’s acoustic version, because she has the soothing voice to get away with it, but Mandy Moore? Doing a somewhat ballad-y version of Umbrella after having a listen to Marie Digby’s version? Not so impressive.
Okay, here are the remixes and the remakes that I know of:
Umbrella (remix) by Rihanna featuring Lil’ Mama
Umbrella (Cinderella remix) by Rihanna and Chris Brown
Umbrella by Marie Digby
Umbrella (Yahoo! Music Cover Art) by Mandy Moore
Umbrella by Scott Simons (thanks for the reminder, Muaz! :D)
We’re just short on a Weird Al Yankovic cover, then maybe he can cheer me up.
(In the making of this post, every time I had to type out Umbrella, I have to pause and make sure I’m not spelling out the way Rihanna sang it: “Umberrella.”)
Yesterday was a quite funny in a silly way day. I was fasting again, with my mom, and I had work, and I had to be at the studio before 7PM. Maghrib was before 6.30, so I had to either break my fast and eat in the studio, or just have a drink and eat two hours after I was done with work. I was going to go with the former, but my mom suggested, “Why don’t we bring food, then I drive you to RTB, and we eat in the car when the azan goes on?”
It was a mighty good idea, and so we did. I don’t know why it’s funny, but it definitely makes me laugh when I think about it now. Imagine two women in the car, getting everything out of a plastic bag to break their fast, in a car, at the side of the road. Seriously. LOL.
Ooh, by the way. I like my new layout. I do, I really do. :) It’s so simple, with big fonts. I love it.
On the note of love, thank you Lily for leaving a comment! I am reposting it, because I love this clip too. For those of you who didn’t bother clicking the previous link, here’s a sneak peek into Ugly Betty season 2! (And now I know where the subtitles came in!)
What does that mean?! I bet it’s one of the stupid dreams Betty has. Haha. (Eek! I so cannot wait for the second season!)
Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away.
