It’s a girl thing

Just a quick update for you ladies out there:

It’s the second annual Girly Bloggers’ Night Out! We have got an official photographer now as well!

I’m hoping that my Kedayan and Feline friends join. Maybe the Firefly as well, yes? Grin

Ladies, leave your men at home!~ (Destiny’s Child Jumpin’ Jumpin’ comes to mind, haha.)

Lucky number seven

Oh, my. I have forgotten the second season premiere of Amazing Race: Asia. I haven’t been catching much of TV lately. It’s either I’m trying to fit everything into my life, or I’m trying to fit everything into what I have left of my life. I think I have to slow down.

I even broke my glasses early this morning. Yes, another early morning for me. Sigh. So I broke my glasses of (possibly) three years. It has been dying for a week now. This morning, it breathed its last breath. Hahaha. I’m such an idiot. I just couldn’t believe my eyes when I broke it. The right temple piece fell off as I forgot to take off my glasses when I went back to sleep. And I just stared at it, with my mouth gaping open.

Now I’m using contacts at home or I won’t feel comfortable, not being able to see properly. It’s annoying, wearing contacts at home. This means I have to buy a new pair of glasses by Sunday payday then. Aww. I was planning on saving some money this month. Frown

Anyway, I owe someone a little something called ‘Seven Random Facts/Travel/Life Experiences During Yesteryears’. I like to call it, The Random Seven! (Boo.)

Okay, so I actually gave this a lot of thought. I even wrote two random facts on a piece of paper while I was taking a break at work! Haha.

  1. There was a point in my life where I wished my name was something like a friend of mine because it looks better when written in cursive. True story.
  2. I have the ugliest mugshot in the history of Brunei SmartCards or I.C.’s.
  3. I have a love/hate relationship with traveling. Hate the actual traveling, love being in another country for holidays.
  4. When I walk down a hall full of people, you have to call out to me for me to spot you and say hi, because I am not temeng, but I just don’t look around when I walk. LOL. The same goes with driving, if someone I know is in another vehicle, I will not spot them unless I have stopped at a traffic light. Even then, they would have to try hard to get my attention, especially if I’m not alone. I tend to be really immersed in conversation, or just singing along with anyone in the car to whatever’s playing on the car stereo. Hehe.
  5. That said, I get scared when strangers stare at me.
  6. That said, I am intimidated by figures of authority.
  7. I tell my mom that I like the number 921 because 9 is my birth day and 21 is my favourite odd number, when 21 is actually the boyfriend’s birth day. Yep, my mom has no idea.

Only seven? Okay, I think I would like to continue with 8, 9, and 10. Haha, kidding.

I’m off for now. I might just have an early night tonight.

Six months since you’ve been gone

Today marks the sixth month since my dad passed away. 22nd May, 2007. It feels like a year has gone, I have gone through so much this year. I can’t wait until it ends.

If everything goes well, 2007 will end with a great bang. And I promise, I will have pictures. Smile

Reply to comments soon, and I promise that I will tweak here and there with the layout. The smilies look awful with the whitish border-like thingy around it. Bleh. On a brighter note, MY7THLIFE.NET is now accessible with MY7THLIFE.COM!! I’m starting to know a thing or two about ‘brand names’ now, thanks to my job at The Company. LOL.

Oh, snap!

It has happened. I am a workaholic!

I tweaked my GMail account so that I’ll receive mail directed to my work inbox, and I can’t help but think how it’d be good if I was in the office right now. Shoot. I was warned that this might happen. I just didn’t think it would come true.

And I find myself bored to tears today. I woke up, and thought, what is there to do? What do I usually do on my days as an unemployed bum? (This is minus, of course, my part-time job at The Studio.) And then I was stumped. Nothing good was on TV (except for Aeon Flux, but I have watched that already), and there is nothing wholesome to eat at home except chocolate digestive biscuits and Cocoa Pebbles.

Don’t let me start with my Sunday! I said I was going to have a lazy Sunday. But no. I had to make cookies for my sister because I couldn’t find anything else to do. And I found myself saying yes to my colleague’s offer to take up his one-hour show at The Studio because I was bored.

Workaholic much?

HELP!

On the other hand, I have now stepped back in the groove of watching online TV. Although, I still couldn’t find the good copy of Ugly Betty’s sixth episode online, I have now watched another episode of Grey’s Anatomy and I am now loading a new TV series that the boyfriend and his cousin have been boasting about. I have watched the latter’s sneak peek, and I am excited to watch it! When I found the online TV for it, I couldn’t wait for it to load and I’m going to watch it tonight! Yeay.

Hopefully this will balance out the whole workaholic stuff. Confused

Sunday Scooby Snacks

I gave in. I’m such a softie who wants to bake super-cute cookies. Like those that come in boxes and all you have to do is add water.

SupaSave sells evil things like this one. LOL. Wink

The cookies, pre-oven baked.

Up-close and personal: the Scooby Snack.

My sous-chef!

I don’t have any pictures after they were done baking in the oven, but they look pretty much the same as if they weren’t baked at all. LOL.

The Scooby Snacks didn’t taste really good though. Confused

Extra lazy Sunday

*stretches*

Well, hello. Nice of you to join me on a Sunday. I finally felt that I slept the amount of time I deserved. I still haven’t woken up after midday since I’ve worked, but two hours before midday is already a great accomplishment. Haha.

So what happened after this “International Meet A Different Character At Every Chance You Get on A Tuesday” day? In Malay it sounds much nicer with the, for example, “Hari Jumpa Semua Jenis Orang Sedunia”, doesn’t it? But anyway.

When I have work at The Company where the working hours is from 8AM to 5PM, and then on the same day, continue working at The Studio from 7PM to 9PM, I don’t blog. Because by the end of my working day, I would be exhausted beyond recognition. Seriously.

So I had that day on Wednesday. Plus, my Thursday, my working hours were from 8AM to 5PM, then 9PM to midnight.

Then (this just had to happen on the same week), I had to come to work at 10AM on a Friday, a non-working day (at the company.)

This isn’t a problem, really. The problem was, I had to wake up at 7AM because my mom needed someone to send her off to work for Senandung Muhibah at Rizqun. (The event was last night, which I had conveniently said no to.) Yes, waking at 7AM on a Friday is a problem for me. But I went with it anyway because it was my responsibility.

[stupid rant]
(See, children? You don’t want to wear make-up now to make you seem all grown-up now, do you? DO YOU?! Because responsibilities and being grown-ups aren’t really all that.)
[/stupid rant]

Anyway, worked from 10AM to 6PM to fix a certain hiccup. Thankfully, I had my cousin there too, so it was none of the “I feel weird because I’ve only worked here for a month and I’ve got no friends” stuff. Actually, I have friends at work. Hehehe. Anyway, the whole thing was fun, where one of my colleagues asked me, “Are you going tonight (to the bachelor party)?” Apparently, this guy is so-laaahh-the-very-innocent!

So I said, “You take me for a guy, is it?” LOL. Takut ia pulang.

My day didn’t end at 6PM when my cousin dropped me off. I had to pick my mom up, then my sister up, then pick my mom up again (how this is happening, I’m too lazy to explain, haha.)

In the end, I just picked my sister up, and had Swensens dinner with her because she passed her PSR with 1A, 3Bs, and 1C. Her ‘A’ being in Bahasa Melayu, which puts me to shame, and her ‘C’ was General Paper, which I could have flunked if I was her because how ‘History’ was back then, is now ‘Sejarah’, it’s all in Malay! Not that I don’t know how to study in Malay, but look at what I got for my PCE Bahasa Melayu! Razz

All in all, I had another late night.. and another work day the next day. It just had me all in a whim, and I didn’t know where I was going yesterday. Reading up on how to create page definitions and all that jazz just sort of went out the window of the windowless office I work at. Haha, just being dramatic. There are windows.

Then I found out, since I had to work on Friday, I can take in lieu! I really don’t know how to use that word in proper context, but that’s not the point. Point is, I’m having a long weekend than most because I took tomorrow (Monday) off!

Yippee!

So today.. I’m going to be lazy, and play pretend with my sister that I’m too tired to bake her cookies. Hehe.

Have a great Sunday! Grin

Today…

… after work, I am going to stay at home for the weekend.

To the rest of you, have a great one.

(Will post soon about recent happenings!)

I had a great day today. Work was swell, had netball with my colleagues and former CIS20s, then had sushi dinner.

Today, I had the great pleasure of meeting one long, lost friend by the name of Fikri (he’s called Nabil now).. I had the pleasure of meeting a free-spirited guy with a penchant for Japanese culture. It was a pleasant experience to be sitting next to him and share stories. I also met an old blogger who has now quit blogging, and her still blogging boyfriend. Hehehe. I am so sorry I didn’t catch your names, but I wish I did. Not only I have limited memory capacity, I sometimes have short attention span, too.

Anyway. I had the misfortune of meeting someone very immature, though. I can be pretty immature sometimes, but to the point of being extremely childish? It was such a pity. I had nothing against her before, but now she gave me a reason to. On a silver platter no less.

No one insults me like that. Heh.

Got an online date now. Toodles!

It IS small!

I had a small open house yesterday. I know, it’s 1st Zulkaedah on that day, and no longer Syawal, but despite the oversight, we went with it anyway.

I had gotten a “You said SMALL!” more times than I can count, but I swear, it was just a really small affair. What made it seem big was my family members and their cars in the frontyard! LOL.

I had my girl friends come over, I also had a number from back in my CIS days, and a few bloggers. I also had my best friend of 10 years come over, but she left early. That bully. I didn’t even get to take pictures with her. There were some people missing, and I hope (hope really hard!) that people received my text messages.

Because, like what I said to people who would want to listen, the day after my dad’s death, I had messaged everyone I knew about the passing of my dad. Apparently, only 70% of the people I sent text messages to had received it. So hopefully, people didn’t come because they couldn’t make it, and not because I didn’t hand out invites.

It really was just a small thing, you didn’t miss much. Wink

Here are some pictures, but you can look around the full album here.

The single remaining sushi platter of three. The other two was gone in 20 minutes.

Rosie and I. Smile

Amalina and boyfriend, Adee.

A tiny fraction of my CIS20 friends; Sel, Mia, and Noreen.

The bloggers who came; Rosie and Maurina.

I will caption them soon, I promise! For now, I’m off to watch Bee Movie with my mom and little sister.

Sob.

I’m on Ugly Betty withdrawal. The online TV for Ugly Betty has got the bad first half of the 6th episode. I am so disappointed.

Maybe I should stock up on Grey’s Anatomy. Loading first half of episode 4. This seems to be taking a long time, so I’m going to go make tiramisu! Wish me luck!
