Ayat-Ayat Cinta
I watched Ayat-Ayat Cinta last night, with my maid. She was there because I needed a fair bit of translation, hehe. Not good with some Indonesian words. Pathetic, I know.
It was a good movie, got me crying in a few scenes, but what I loved about it was the song by Rossa! Haha. I’ll give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. I want to watch it again because the VCD wasn’t of the quality that I usually watch. (Poor quality VCDs or DVDs will result in tears of boredom, on my part.)
On another note, I LOVE Aisha’s eyes! Lawa!

Recommended. Introduces you to a concept of love that most people will find, well, strange. But it is very refreshing. The book is even better.

Hi,
! It’s worth a watch, just think that people didn’t give great/bad reviews before you watch the movie, and you’ll be fine. I know how you feel about certain movies, especially Heart! I never thought any movie was a waste of time and film than that one! (I’ve never watched Coklat Stroberi, though, but sounds like an interesting movie title!! Haha.)
Anna, I tried reading the book online, and knowing me having a history of being very pathetic and not understanding great Bahasa Melayu words, I couldn’t really grasp it. Is there an English translation of the book?
Muaz, I KNOW!! It was so mesmerising, I kept on wanting her to wear the, erm, niqab, was it? YEAH! Because she looked so hauntingly beautiful with only her eyes visible. I want eyes like those, but I can’t, for the life of me, put on decent eyeliner! Haa.

I’m not sure. I started reading the PdF version online as well, but I can’t stand reading from the computer for so long. So I got hold of the book, but was kinda disappointed that it was the Bahasa Malaysia version. I hardly understand Indonesian, but I found that it made for a more interesting read.

Hm. I understand 80% of Bahasa Melayu novels, but can never be as immersed as I read English novels. I’m very unsure of Indonesian, but when I watch any Indonesian TV series, or movies, I happen to not know a few words and end up not understanding the TV/movie at all.
I’m really all about understanding everything, including dialogue, or I won’t enjoy it. Hehe.
