Losing grasp

And to think I’ve done enough of these memes. Hahaha. Tagged by Muaz.

State 15 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself. The people I tagged are then to follow my footsteps and write their own 15 weird things/habits and little known facts. No tagging me back.

  1. I don’t like the sound of heavy rain on the rooftop. I also hate it when there’s thunder and lightning, especially at night, because that might cause a blackout at my house. I do love the smell of rain on grass during the day, though.
  2. Whenever I’m spooked before I go to bed, I turn on the radio so I don’t sleep in complete silence. If annoying person is on radio, then turn on CD player, or plug in the iPod onto the stereo. Haa.
  3. I am not depressed, but I love listening to sad, sappy, love songs, especially Indonesian ones. The boyfriend hates this, but I’m not sure I can stop listening to them. I simply think that Indonesian (sad) love songs are great, because they really put their words to good use!
  4. I am addicted to the Internet, it’s not even funny. It’s weird how I fit in the rest of my life in between all the surfing and blog-hopping!
  5. I love getting nifty (read: weird) things, something like Magic Instant Hair Bun would be a perfect example.
  6. Every time Hotel California (by the Eagles) comes on, I switch it off. The song freaks me out.
  7. Heavily dependent on my other half, I get cranky when I don’t hear his voice for long periods of time.
  8. I sing along to songs when I’m driving, no matter who’s in the car. I especially do it at night because the probability of other drivers seeing me singing is dim (no pun intended.) I don’t do it when people keep me busy with a conversation, of course. If only my mouth can multitask. Ha.
  9. I like being curvy, but I do not like the unwanted and unnecessary ‘bumps’. LOL.
  10. I think blogging is now really overrated, but I still do it because I don’t know how to stop.
  11. My dad taught me that if there’s an itch caused by ‘ulat bulu‘, it’s treatable with hot, melted candle wax. I don’t know if it’s true, but I love how it works every time!
  12. I might have mild OCD. I can’t start my day without certain rituals, and I like doing things in a certain pattern that makes sense in my mind. I am, however, not a perfectionist.
  13. I prefer the weather cold than warm. This might be the result of living in Brunei for the whole of my life.
  14. One of the talents that I wish I had: Playing a musical instrument. I can’t even strum a guitar properly!
  15. I love making people laugh. But maybe that isn’t so much little-known-fact, is it?

With that over, let’s go back to the normal routine of updating you with whatever amuses me in life. Haha.

I went for my usual step aerobics session today, and Atul and Nonnie joined me! It was fun having them with me, actually. Makes everything less tiring. Though I don’t think Atul wants to join another session. Heehee. (Join lagi baaaahh! Siuk jua!)

The moments that define you (Part 1)

I was just doing my daily round of evening blog-hopping, and read Shasha’s interesting post. She talks about one of the courses she had attended in KL, and was asked to list the 3 defining moments in our lives. When I reached that sentence in her post, my mind immediately snapped to my own 3 defining moments in my life.

Funnily enough, one of them is somewhat similar to hers: The computer. It was given to me by my late dad when I had passed my PCE with flying colours (even though I had cried because I didn’t get the 5 A’s I wanted — overachiever! Haha.)

It was early 1997, and I didn’t have Internet along with the desktop, but I loved it. Looking back now, I don’t know why. I think it was because my dad actually trusted me enough to dismantle the whole thing just to see how things were inside and then put it back together. I had that rush like I knew what I was doing and it came naturally. (Now that I think about it, it’s all really ridiculous.)

But I was 12-going-on-13, so that thought was all I had.

I didn’t use the computer straight away. My dad was furthering his studies and he was using it first. I didn’t mind, because back then, all I could think of was, “I HAD A COMPUTER! I AM SO COOL!” Haha. From that moment on forth, I had wanted to take up Computer Studies. Back then, I didn’t even know what “IT” stands for! Haha.

Unfortunately, I had been persuaded (by people who will remain anonymous) to take up something else rather than Computer Studies because I didn’t have the basics as they told me, and I played along up until I finished sixth form. I didn’t do well, but I had options open, and one of the best options in my life, it was: ITB.

I finally had the chance to do what I had wanted! (I even applied for a lower qualification in UBD just so when I get accepted into ITB, they won’t make me feel bad for turning down UBD.) Fast forward to the present, here I am now. In the IT profession, and I couldn’t see myself doing anything else! Never better, never happier! Grin

Phew. That’s just one! Two more to go! Stay tuned!

Random thoughts during sahur

I’m fasting today to pay back any days that I might have missed and not taken into account by somehow disregarding any anomalies. (I don’t think I’m sure that I was talking about there.)

So no food blogs for me today. Unless I can pull myself together and not salivate. Better not.

Yeay! No aerobics, no food! Hee.

Here’s a note to my friends who plan to bring me out: Totally free on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Won’t have dinner after 8PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Fridays and Sundays are open, but will be put under consideration. Haha. I’m such a joke. Just bring me out, I don’t have a life. Razz

Anyway. People have been adding me on Facebook and I have some difficulty recalling these people who add me. That might be because I don’t know some of them? Yea, so, if you’re one of my readers who wish to add me, please say so. If you don’t say anything, I will have a really hard time thinking and searching through my mind just to figure out who are, and I might just end up ignoring your friend request. Which I have done a number of times.

Yea, I won’t just confirm friends requests from people I don’t know. It’s a bit more private than my blog. A bit more! Razz

#666

Internet is not broken anymore! It is fixed! And before lunchtime!

Thank you, TelBru! Prompt action, great customer service too. From the complaint I made to the people who made calls back. All great.

I so feel like someone who doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

To Atul and Nonnie: See? I told you so. I wasn’t being perasan. HAHAHA. Razz

This post’s ID is 666!

An update?

I wish I can take leave from work, but as it is well-known, I can’t take my leave until I’ve passed my one-year mark. I think work has taken its toll on me, I’ve been feeling quite disoriented lately. Or probably because of everything around me is breaking down. First, the television. Then, my chair. Now, the Internet at home is broken.

A technician from TelBru came by after work yesterday, and it wasn’t my modem after all. Well, it’s all still inconclusive as he has to check again since there is nothing coming in from the phone lines to the modem even when he tried with a brand new modem that he had brought with him.

One thing I find funny about no Internet at home is that, I’m not sure why I have an entry saying I will have no updates. Haha. (Just in case you don’t get it, it’s only at home that I don’t have access to the Internet. Razz )

Never mind.

Anyway. I went out for dinner last night with Atul and Nonnie at Cheezbox and finally had a taste of its Ultimate Chocolate, which I prefer warm. Can it be piping hot so that when it cools down, it gets warm, not cold? The first bite was orgasmic (haha), and the bites after that.. not so much. It cooled down fast, so it wasn’t as good as the first bite.

Atul had picked Nonnie and I up for dinner, hence she had to send us back (with her new car, ahem). She sent me back first, and when I got out, taking full advantage of the empty, incomplete house right next to mine, I freaked them both out by pointing out that there was something in the trunk. LOL.

Sorry, girls. I didn’t know I freaked you out so bad, Atul had to recite the Ayat Kursi to calm them down. Heehee. Grin

Going to be a tad busy these days leading up to the weekend.. Bowling later with a few friends from ITB, and lunch tomorrow with my girls. When it’s all mixed up with my exercise schedule, it’s going to be tight. So hopefully this weekend, I won’t have much to do but just have a lazy one.

Off to do some real work now. Until next time!

(And I’ll do this meme soon.)

Please take note

Modem at the house is broken. Expect no updates sooner than this weekend. (Maybe next week.)

Meanwhile, busy, busy, busy at the office!

Wait until the dust settles

Sometimes when people say things to me, I’m not sure if I should be insulted or take it as advice.

Someone should write up some guidelines on these things because I really am insulted at something someone had just said to me. In addition to this whole ‘confusion’, I’m not even sure if it was directed to me!

Yea, I know. Confused much?

Aggravation

There’s something seriously wrong with my MY7THLIFE.NET’s server. It’s loading very, very slowly. It annoys the heck out of me, because I’m doing a bit of touch-up here and there, and I can’t do smoothly. I want to check what’s going on, just so I can convince myself to do these touch-ups some other day, but I am just too lazy.

I’m feeling quite out of place today.

Maybe I can’t sit on my comfortable chair anymore. Or because the TV downstairs is, like my chair, broken. GAH! We have another TV that’s connected to the Astro, but it’s no fun as I can’t surf channels.

Why are the things in this house starting to break down?!

Kesepian by Dygta

Been listening to this in my car, and this about sums up a significant chunk of my life.

Warning: Mathematician at work!

Currently at Coffee Bean with Atul (and initially Rosie, but she ditched us for insurance, hmph), and she is working out a triangle math problem. Trust me, I had a shot at it, but I didn’t want to finish it. Actually, I think I couldn’t. Here’s the girl, hard at work.

She’s been on it for a long time now, and she keeps talking to herself. Rosie did too, but she left before she could finish it, if I’m not mistaken.
