Oh, wow. I had great fun this weekend!

Farah, one of my classmates from CIS, ITB, fellow netball player, and good friend, treated a number of us to a sleepover at The Empire Hotel and Country Club. I haven’t been there in a long time now, and I thought, hey, it should be good fun. You know, chill out, have fun with a few good laughs.

In this case, a lot of good laughs. Even when we were in bed! Well, four of us were in bed, the other three made use of the sofa. Sorry girls (who were on the sofa)! The bed was too comfy too pass! Grin I have always loved the bed, pillows and duvet!

Basically, siuk lah berabis. Haven’t had fun like that in eons. So, thank you, girls, for making my weekend. Smile

Pictures on FB. Too lazy to post. Hee.

Unappreciated

First time in my entire life, I have a serious resolution. But not for the Gregorian new year, but for the new 1429 Hijriah! I’m not going to share it. However, if I pull through, I will reveal by the time it’s 1430H!

Speaking of new year Hijriah — it’s on the 10th, by the way, The Company has decided to celebrate by having a little thanksgiving ceremony with a little kick: everyone dresses up the Arabian way. For specific teams, however, there’s going to be a different theme and it’s going to be based on a movie.

For two of the teams, including the one I am in, the movie is Lawrence of Arabia. Dilemma: I don’t know what to wear. I haven’t watched the movie before, and based on Google Image searches — which isn’t much to start with — aren’t most (or all) of the women in the movie belly-baring? Confused

I have to ask the boyfriend on this. He should know. LOL. Wink

I’m looking forward to the week to come, because I had a somewhat great, albeit a bit sleepy, Saturday and I can’t wait for the new week to start. I’ve got something new to try out tomorrow morning, hi-tea with CIS20 girls in the afternoon, and I have decided that I’m going to have an early night so I’ll have a delicious start to the Monday morning.

Doesn’t that sound really good? Smile

It’s the ‘delicious’ that does it. Try it some time.

Anyway. I was just passing by the new (yet to be open) mall in Rimba, to get to Wesmart for some butter, and I marvelled at how colossal this shopping mall was. Is it true that there’s going to be a theme park inside, or is that just a rumour? Hopefully, there are going to be new shops instead of the ones I keep on seeing in the two other malls in Brunei.

I’m off for now. xx!

It IS small!

I had a small open house yesterday. I know, it’s 1st Zulkaedah on that day, and no longer Syawal, but despite the oversight, we went with it anyway.

I had gotten a “You said SMALL!” more times than I can count, but I swear, it was just a really small affair. What made it seem big was my family members and their cars in the frontyard! LOL.

I had my girl friends come over, I also had a number from back in my CIS days, and a few bloggers. I also had my best friend of 10 years come over, but she left early. That bully. I didn’t even get to take pictures with her. There were some people missing, and I hope (hope really hard!) that people received my text messages.

Because, like what I said to people who would want to listen, the day after my dad’s death, I had messaged everyone I knew about the passing of my dad. Apparently, only 70% of the people I sent text messages to had received it. So hopefully, people didn’t come because they couldn’t make it, and not because I didn’t hand out invites.

It really was just a small thing, you didn’t miss much. Wink

Here are some pictures, but you can look around the full album here.

The single remaining sushi platter of three. The other two was gone in 20 minutes.

Rosie and I. Smile

Amalina and boyfriend, Adee.

A tiny fraction of my CIS20 friends; Sel, Mia, and Noreen.

The bloggers who came; Rosie and Maurina.

I will caption them soon, I promise! For now, I’m off to watch Bee Movie with my mom and little sister.

Try, “I don’t care.”

Oh, so my post on one of my blonde moments attracted people to leave comments, eh? Feel that it’s hilarious, eh? *glares*

I’m kidding. I found it stupidly funny too. LOL!

I went to a CIS20 gathering this morning over at Soto Rindu place in Sengkurong. Was late, but it was great to see my friends again. Hopefully, we’ll be as close as we always have been. It’s funny how nearly everyone’s working already! Scary. When are the CIS20 couples going to get hitched, though? (Heehee.)

I’ve been up to no good recently. Pay’s out, and I’ve been splurging on DVDs and clothes. I bought Zodiac, 28 Weeks Later, Perfect Stranger, Pan’s Labyrinth, Captivity, and TMNT.

How do I put this? It’s crazy. With the exception of Perfect Stranger because I haven’t watched it, I thought I would have at least liked ONE of these movies. (Movies watched are not in order, and were not watched in one go.)

28 Weeks Later was just good in the movies, as it wasn’t as good on DVD. Pan’s Labyrinth was TOO long, and the story wasn’t much to begin with. (Nearly 3 hours, as it says on the box.) Captivity was all right, but we had to watch it on a nearly broken DVD player in Liz’s room, and we totally missed out on the ending. Please don’t let me start on TMNT. It had nothing going on to interest me to keep it playing in the DVD player. I bailed out barely 30 minutes into the movie.

As for Zodiac, didn’t finish this one either. It didn’t interest me enough to stay until the end. Opted to have Italian at Capers instead. I went with Liz, Siti, and Qil. When we were done, we went to Hua Ho Tanjung Bunut to get Liz’s ring at Mythos Collection — correct me if I’m wrong.

I was fine during all this, but when I got back to Liz’s house, I had the most painful headache ever. I even let my mom drive us back home, it was that bad! (I will always drive my family everywhere, if I can help it. No one says no to me. No one. I. DRIVE. But not last night. Ugh.)

I digressed! THE MOVIES WERE ALL BAAAAAAAAAAD. So much for watching DVDs with your cousins, and having an ultimately great time. Roight. Maybe I’ll scout around Brunei for a good-quality copy of Hostel.

Oh, this reminds me, I watched Vacancy with Amalina and Zawanah, and we had a blast! Funny thing was when the trailers were playing, Amalina thought we’d be watching My Wife Is A Gangster 3! Haha. And she wondered why the trailers were of thriller/horror movies. LOL. It was good, as we were the only 3 watching the movie in broad daylight, thus avoided whispering, and had fun shrieking our heads off. Well, my head anyway. I liked it, but, just like 28 Weeks Later, I might just like it in the cinemas.

Oh, let’s talk about something else, shall we? I’ve been having this really weird feeling about a friend lately. I don’t even know if s/he is a friend to me anymore. All singled out, and everything. Hm. Is it because of the recent tragedy in my life that s/he doesn’t know how to approach me anymore? I am no good with confrontations and I avoid it at all costs.

So this may, or may not, be about you. (BOH DOI.) Seriously, though, I don’t know what to do about it. I’m not even sad that it’s happening, it just feels like split ends: it does not hurt you, but you just want to get rid of it. Badly.

I’m off to sleep. No longer a nocturnal creature, neither am I an insomniac, thanks to my best friend in the whole wide world! Love ya! Smile

Congratulations, graduates!

I know I haven’t exactly kept to my promises, saying I’ll be uploading pictures and whatnot, but at least I’ve uploaded them onto my Flickr account. That counts, right? Nyeh. Razz

Yesterday, ITB’s 16th Convocation for intake 20 was held at the ICC in Berakas. It was supposed to be on the 19th, but it was postponed to the 21st. It bothered me a lot at first, because it’s my first time hearing the news of a convocation being postponed. Never heard of any other big events having such a thing. But never mind.

I ended up having loads of fun, forgetting about the whole fact that the event was supposed to be held on a Saturday. I took lots of pictures with my friends in the morning event — where our certificates were presented by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, but all of them were taken by my friends’ cameras because mine was with my mom. I will put up those pictures whenever I can get a hold of them, for now..

Here’s one I took with my parents.

DSC00661

I had somehow successfully hid the colossal sleeves in this picture and made myself look close to my normal size instead of a huge giant pumpkin, quoting my mom.

The day ended with a picture taking with HRH the Crown Prince outside the entrance of the ICC, and I was exhausted. There weren’t many activities happening, but I didn’t know why I was tired.

Contemplated on whether or not I want to attend my graduation night, for a little thanksgiving ceremony. I ended up going because my mom enlightened me on the fact that the event was paid for, and it was deducted from our allowances, meaning they’re not just throwing it for the sake of us graduating, we’re throwing it for ourselves! So I went, after an hour’s worth of Z’s. My mom said it was two, but I maintain with the one hour I had.

I went, donned in all black, not that I was mourning or anything, but I had planned on wearing the nice black national attire for the night. I took minimal amounts of pictures because most of my friends have already gone home, and I was left with less than five friends and two lecturers.

I promised them it’ll be in the blog, so here they are. Smile

DSC00667

Dr. Sophiana and I. She’s one of my most favourite lecturers. She enlightened me with Java programming, in which I thought I could never understand, but did! I managed to thank her last night for one of the most fabulous years of my life.

DSC00670

Sir Rudy and I. Our final year SDP supervisor. He was my first year lecturer as well, but he went AWOL most of the time because he’s just like that. Haha, kidding. I told him this picture was going to be on my weblog, and he said he’ll check up on it, and I asked, “You know my blog?” I thought only Dr. Sophiana did, but apparently not. He said, “Who doesn’t?” Well, that’s sort of what he said, my memory doesn’t exactly trump that of a goldfish.

Which then makes me wonder, who on earth are my readers?!

DSC00674

And this.. is Ms. Izah, who is happily expecting in August. I am delighted for her, she doesn’t look it, since she has a very petite frame, but I now realize the bump. Teehee. She’s my first year lecturer, and she is the cutest and nicest lecturers I have ever had. Cute abis!

For more pictures, you can click here.

Before I go, here is a picture that I have to post up (simply because both of them read my blog.) This is of Superstar Shim and Dr. Sophiana. (Private joke on the superstar bit. Wink)

Pictures from MRS

I’ve only got ten to share, and most of them are stolen from Eff. Haha. He knows I usually do this, and it saves him the time to actually send them through e-mail.

Picture #1: This is Sel and I, before the whole event started. We were waiting for the others. Apparently, they all met up at the lobby. Nyeh.

Picture #2: This was taken during the drama. We were bored, so Sel took their picture. This has to be my favourite because Muliadi is just embarrassing himself. (And it’s all thanks to me, hahahaha.)

Picture #3: Also taken during the drama, our lecturer went to the table nearest to ours, and was talking to my other classmates before deciding to take a picture. (Our lecturer, Sir Sharul, is the one in stripes.)

Picture #4: I got bored, so I fiddled around with the macro function! Haha. (My purse and someone else’s phone.)

Picture #5: This was taken when everything ended. Spotted: Dr. Sophiana Chua.

Picture #6: One of my favourite lecturers and I. This is Dr. Sophiana, whom I call Ms. Sophiana because the former doesn’t roll off my tongue nicely.

Picture #7: Another mini group picture. From left, Asdanny, Ka Hjh. Ainun, Amalina, Dr. Sophiana, and myself.

Picture #8: The SDP group A. Haha. From left, Muliadi, Sir Rudy, Eff, Sel, and me.

Picture #9: I was trying to give As some horns, to no avail. Look at me, acting all stupid. LOL.

Picture #10: The food. Minus the sliced watermelon. You can even spot plain water in this picture.

Like crazy

Not to be bitchy or anything, but here’s the invite to CIS department’s Appreciation & Farewell Dinner that I promised.

front.jpg

back.jpg

I suddenly wish I could rewind everything and go back to the appreciation dinner on February 24th. (And we only had to fork out B$35.)

I’m the IS representative! Grin Haha, don’t know why I’m happy about that. (Eff, I want that video of all the speeches~)

Making a tiny comeback

Did anyone watch American Idol results show tonight?

WARNING: BIG, FAT SPOILER AHEAD.

(I’m not cutting my posts anymore because it gets cut off in RSS feeds as well. Wouldn’t want that now, would we?)

How absurd was the results show? Beside the fact that Sanjaya Malakar is still in the competition, how can Gina Glocksen be out?! She was one of the better performances. Even if she was in the bottom two, I think Haley Scarnato should’ve went. Or Phil Stacey and his eyebrows. And Sanjaya should have been in the bottom three, not the middle three. Thank goodness I was spared the information about which spot in the middle three he was in. I hope it wasn’t the top middle three, or the middle middle three. Haha, what am I on about? I just want him to be in the bottom middle three.

About the performances on Wednesday night, I was bored with it. But I stuck through every performance, and I have to say, it was pretty hard. All I did was let it stay on channel 70, and I’d do something else. I wouldn’t concentrate. Is American Idol losing its edge? Or have I just lost interest? I want to see the contestants perform really famous songs so that I’d be familiar with them.

Last week was better than this week. They should get people like Gwen Stefani to be their mentors more often. I wish American Idol contestants would perform more current songs. I know, this week was classic American songs night, but Gina Glocksen sang a song that non-Americans (and the young) would know very well! Psch. Whatever. Hopefully, next week would be good. I’ll keep you updated if I read anything on AI.

Anyway.. I missed last week’s results show and my mom has been making me regret it because Sweet Escape is this household’s favourite song of the now (including my dad because he’s a fan of Akon.) So I was looking through the pictures, and what is this? Why is he standing like that? Is he really dating Alaina Alexander, now? Haha, tipunya kali.

c_richardson.jpg
Oh, hellew.

Just kidding. (Wouldn’t want to repeat a minor Poklen mistake.)

Oh! So I found a video of Gwen Stefani’s performance with Akon.

I have to say this, as wobbly as she sounds sometimes when singing live, she’s one of my favourite live singers.

Moving on from my thoughts on American Idol, MRS is coming — it is this Saturday evening, and my one main concern is if someone else is coming in with a similar dress on as myself. I thought, “I should have made a custom-made dress instead of buying one.” I never, have I ever felt like this about a dress before. I mean, what would I need a dress for?

But now, I apparently do. I feel that it’s sort of like a prom night, but with different activities happening. LOL. This could well be my first and last prom, if it is even close to one. Haha. Never usually have motivation to attend such things, but nearly everyone in the CIS department is excited about it, and it’s infectious. Serious.

Moving on.. My right knee has been hurting for two weeks now, but I have kept quiet about it. With my mom anyway. Whenever I tell her there’s something wrong with me, she worries a lot. But last night, I finally told her. Although, I did tell a little white lie. I said it has been hurting for a week. What? I just didn’t want her to worry.

The downside to that was, well, she wouldn’t let me play netball this afternoon. She actually gave me the mean eye last night when I started my “but’s” just so I can convince her to let me play. Blah.

I think this post is getting too long now. Post again soon. Toodles!

Falling

Time for an old picture!

thumbnail.jpg

Look at my hair! Sort of like it that length.. When was this ah? I remember it was the fasting month.. during my HND placement semester, me thinks. 2005! Whoa. But I do remember that from the side, the back looks really limp and not so nice. I do like how the length looks like though.

So sorry that I haven’t updated much. I haven’t got a lot to talk about. Even then, I feel so lazy to post. So, it’s not exactly a blogger’s block, but sheer laziness. I’ve also got pictures from the Pilihan-Akira Talentime 2007 preliminary auditions at The Mall from my colleagues, and also pictures of the small surprise birthday party we had for Frankie. But I haven’t had the right mood to edit the pictures to their optimum and display it on this blog.

Like I said, too lazy.

I was out with my friends for a barbecue at Muara beach yesterday too. I went after work, and I had to call Ratz to know how to get there. I have a very, very bad memory. (Some people witnessed this last week. Haha. SBC, that’s you!) I’ve driven there a couple of times, but I still need someone in the front passenger seat to reassure me of where I’m going. My memory’s so bad, it’s pathetic, right?

Anyway, I was wearing a white shirt, but I had the black tube top that I just bought on! I thought it was going to be hot with two layers of clothing on, but it wasn’t, and it saved me from ending up being one of the wet t-shirt contestants with one of the activities. Kidding. There were wet activities (like throwing water balloons at each other), but there was no wet t-shirt contest, okay? Razz We are good and well-mannered people. Right.

Joined Atul’s group of friends (also on the beach) a bit later on. Made a few friends along the way, which was cool. I was never good at making new friends, but with my (possibly new-found) humour and courage, I crack a few jokes. Not just in my mind either. *cough*

Look at this post’s time. I can’t believe I’m up at this time. I’m usually up by 9AM, but I was awoken by.. err.. I just sort of woke up on my own. Which sucks because I like sleeping a lot. Haha.

I’m going to go and probably watch some Korean drama called Tree In Heaven and not bother the boyfriend.

Jelly bean

I’m going to watch Mr. Bean’s Holiday tonight. My colleague gave me his mom’s free tickets from HSBC, and I’m going with my little sister since I was a bit harsh to her yesterday about eating my candy bar without my permission. Anyway, I’ve never had free tickets before, so let me show you how it looks like! (Kes iski ni ah.)

bean.jpg

Anyway.. I was at The Mall this morning until this afternoon, to help man one of the two ITB booths of the Crown Prince’s CIPTA thingy. Okay, fine, my SDP team’s project was being shown to the public, else I wouldn’t bother coming and staying. So we were there, and the Crown Prince was talking to one of my classmates (Ratz, in particular) about the system. There were three systems there and hopefully, we have showcased at least what students from CIS department, ITB are capable of.

Then I was teasing our lecturers to treat us to some food since it’s pay day, and one of our lecturers, my team’s SDP supervisor, Hj. Rudy, finally caved in. Kidding. Sel and I were a bit surprised that he was for real. (Nada wah, not really. Haha.) So we ate at Swensen’s and filled ourselves with food to the brim. (Thanks again, sir! Grin)

To War, Rosie, Atul and Maurina: I found out the boy’s name! (The boy from yesterday bah.)

I’m a wee bit tired now, going to take a small nap before anything else. Planning to watch The Princess Hours episode 6 soon. I’ve finally gotten over the illusion that My Girl is the best Korean series ever. I sort of told myself that I won’t be able to watch other Korean series because it won’t be as good as My Girl. But, like I said, I’ve gotten over it now. LOL.

Off for my nap.

And to auntie, hello! Fancy seeing you here. Smile
