Disappointment

July 29th, 2008 Posted 7:06PM

I read about the Limbang road accident that resulted in five lives lost. Three of the deceased were Bruneian, two Singaporean. First of all, my deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased who are feeling the mighty sadness of losing ones you love. Al-Fatihah dibacakan, mudah-mudahan mereka termasuk dalam golongan orang-orang yang beriman. Amin.

OK, so on to the media coverage on the accident. I am disappointed. News of the accident, I am OK with. But circulating the video of what happened after? I was really, really shocked. I was forwarded the e-mail with the video attached, but I refuse to even download it.

When BruDirect had that link to the YouTube video, I was even more appalled. I couldn’t believe my eyes as I was reading it! I surely didn’t focus on the pictures that were on the article.

Why I refuse to watch the video, is a bit personal to me. If, and I surely hope not, it had happened to my dad, after his accident in Seria, I would seriously be very, very angry. And my dad survived the accident, so imagine if he didn’t and someone recorded a video and circulated it.

Angry might not even be the right word right now. I would explode, I would cry, I would be bitter, to say the least. How can people watch that video and not have respect for those who went before us?

It was hard enough to look at the picture of the vehicle that my dad was in when he was in the accident with his colleague. Please, if you receive any e-mails, or MMSes, or anything of the sort, that has the video attached, don’t watch it. Most importantly, don’t forward it, stop distributing it.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the deceased. May your hearts be soothed by the fact that Allah is giving you these trials and tribulations because He loves you and wants you to remember Him. Multiply your prayers, recite the surah Yassin for them, recite the Al-Fatihah every single time you have them in your thoughts.

It definitely works for me.

I’d like to wish His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam a very happy 62nd birthday. I would also like to thank HM for making HM’s birthday anniversary a public holiday as I needed this day off before embarking on more tasks to make HM’s birthday anniversary smooth-sailing.

Long live His Majesty.

April 18th, 2008 Posted 4:37PM

My cousins and friends are having a thing called Sweet Tooth every weekend, so drop by if you have a very particular sweet tooth. Smile

My favourite would have to be the cupcakes. Nyum.

Not a particularly great picture of the handout, as the opening hours are from 10AM to 5PM, but hopefully the rest of the message is clear. Smile

I’m typing this post at work. Not my day job, the other one. Be confused. Be very confused.

Anyhoos. Shasha dropped by this afternoon (with E), and gave me a sample of her yummy cupcakes. And I’m not just saying it because she’s a good friend of mine. It’s because they really were yummy! The peanut butter ones were great with the peanuts on the icing, and the chocolate coconut ones were heaven. I’ve never been a big fan of coconut with chocolate (all thanks to Bounty chocolate bar), but this one was.. whoah. NYAMAN!

I had them for sungkai dessert with my mom and sister, and I think my sister finished them off, so I have got no pictures to prove it to you guys. Haha.

Moving on (since I’m making myself wanting more of her cupcakes), hari raya aidilfitri will be on Saturday, 1st Syawal 1428H, corresponding to the 13th October 2007M. If I don’t get to update on the 1st of the new month, here’s to a good aidilfitri!

I would also like to take this opportunity to apologize to anyone if I have offended you or anything of the like. It is either I’m really stupid, or I really didn’t have any idea that I did (offend you.) So..

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI!
MAAF ZAHIR DAN BATIN!
With all the love from MY7THLIFE.NET

Smile

I would like to say HAPPY TEACHERS’ DAY to all the teachers out there, teaching locally and internationally!

Also, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO KA ETY!

In other news.. What a packed day yesterday was..

My mom, my sister and I went shopping after school and work ended for the both of them. We bought a fair share of things, after walking around The Mall for about 4 hours or so. Who would’ve thought that there were so much stuff to look around? Well, if you’re a Muslim lady, then there’s a lot of things to browse through. There are tudongs, shoes, books, clothes.. okay, maybe a small range of clothes.

I bought tudongs, my mom bought shoes, my sister bought herself a purse for upcoming Hari Raya.. I also bought a book by one of my favourite authors, Mitch Albom, called For One More Day. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet because I had work last night, and when I returned home, my time was completely wasted on playing Super Granny 3. It reminds me of playing Sandman back in the day. Was it called Sandman, where you dig a hole so that the enemy will fall into it and be buried alive?

Back to the book, it seems really interesting, and hopefully it’s another tearjerker. My life is in dire need of drama, it’s been boring. Haha. I told my mom of Mitch Albom, and she wanted to read Tuesdays With Morrie, but I still don’t know who I lent it to last.

I want to be baking, but I lost my copy of the baked Oreo Cheesecake recipe, and I can’t find it online anymore. The woman who had it online took down all of her posts. Frown

But never mind. My sister and I bought violet, blue, and green food colouring, so we’ll be decorating mini cupcakes soon. Haha.

A part of me is sad that it can’t come any sooner, but I’ve been expecting it.
