All together now

Via I Can Has Cheezburger.

Awwww.

So sweet.

Macam boyfriendku. Heehee.

Anyhow. I’ve been posting other things on my blog these days. It’s either I have been too lazy to blog about my usual nonsense, or I’m too busy watching DVDs in my room. Aiseh. I can finally be one of the priviledged people who have a TV in their rooms. This sounds sad, but let me let you know, that all my life, I wasn’t allowed to have a TV of any sort in my room. It’s OK for me to have a laptop that plays DVDs and surf the Internet, but not a television.

My mom always thought that if I always had a TV in my room, I wouldn’t go down for meals. Seriously, though, with my mom’s ability to get you downstairs no matter what, it wouldn’t have been a problem. I guess she just insists that we stick to the plan. Until recently.

It’s great. I used to turn on the radio when the room gets really quiet. Now, I just either put Astro on or pop in a Project Runway DVD. And now, all I need is a good sofa to watch my TV. Izzah thinks I need a Wii, but that will have to come some other time. I need my sofa!

What I’m also loving about the new TV is that I get to watch movies and Will & Grace with the boyfriend. Who says you can’t rock a long-distance relationship? LOL.

Anyway, I’ve been having Italian for sungkai three times alone this week. I had a folded pizza at Fratini’s on Wednesday with Mumtaz and boyfriend, Zainul, who had treated me to a good meal and a great laugh. Then I went to Capers on Friday with my CIS20 friends. Just yesterday, I went to Villa Mauri with Izzah. I think, by far, Villa Mauri served the best food and had the best servers. It was my first time there, and I am very, very impressed.

I just wasn’t pleased with the loud lady girl (she does not merit the word lady) on the next table. She doesn’t even get the hint we had given her. Maybe Izzah and I weren’t loud enough. We gather that they were a table of bloggers. She was that loud, OK? We couldn’t help but overhear. Nyeh.

I’m going to go back to my dose of Project Runway now. More updates soon.

How do I name this?

American Idol: I’m disappointed with David Cook this week. Performance-wise, Simon Cowell was right, it was a knockout, and David Archuleta emerged as champion. If we were solely looking at this week’s performances, David A. would win. But overall, I love Cook more. I’m OK with an Archuleta win as he deserves it as much as David C. does, but I’ll be ecstatic if the latter wins.

We shall see in the results show tomorrow. Smile

Mazda: Anyway. These pictures are for the curious Smile

The dent, the chipped paint..

.. and the cracks.

The bumper is fixed now, heated and molded back to its original shape, spray-painted to cover up the chipped paint spots, and alhamdulillah, it only costs B$80. Big thanks to my uncle for bringing it to the workshop. The cracks on the taillight is yet to be fixed, but if you didn’t know, you won’t notice that they’re there. So I’m happy. Maybe my bonus in December will see me with a new left taillight.

It doesn’t look so bad in the pictures, does it? Faz has looked at the damages when the car was parked at The Mall on a Saturday night, and she had a reaction. LOL. I guess it’s just hard to handle the fact that it’s new.

Me: I have another picture, and it’s a candid. See more candids here, taken during the BBQ last Sunday. You can also see my name (among others) on a birthday cake! Thanks, guys! Grin Read the rest of this entry »

There is no ‘E’ in WORD!

I just have to share this: Kellie Pickler (of American Idol season 5) on Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?.

Priceless.

It was a nightmare

What I love about the Internet: I can find out who is eliminated off American Idol six hours earlier than usual. I KNOW WHO’S OUT AND I’M GLAD!! WOOO!

Bad enough that the eliminated contestant was in top 5 instead of Carly Smithson, just like how Michael Johns went before Kristy Lee Cook. Bad judgment. Bleh.

And performance night, other than being boring, what was up with Paula? I’ve been reading online, and they say it’s about time that they prove that the show is rigged. Whoops.

Now. I swear I wanted to post something other than American Idol..

When there is no Internet, there’s always the telly to fall back on

Internet-less for the past 24 hours. I couldn’t check my e-mail, couldn’t blog hop, and I was agitated. Like her, I had withdrawal symptoms. I had restarted my modem and my router countless times, thinking that it was just my connection. Until her message arrived, then I knew it wasn’t just me.

However, thank goodness for TV. I spent a good 2 hours and a half watching Idol Gives Back, and spending half of it crying my eyes off, a quarter of it laughing, and the rest just enjoying the performances. I quite loved the opening performance by the contestants with their rendition of Rihanna’s Don’t Stop The Music. I also loved their performance on “Season of Love”.

I want to download the performances on iTunes, but there are some pages (including Blogspot blogs) that are inaccessible at the moment. (Internet still recovering in this part of the world, I guess.)

But tonight’s episode caused an upset in this household. One of my favourites had the least number of votes, and that sucks. I hate seeing my favourite go while some other not-so-good performers *coughKristyLeeCookcough* are still in the running.

I am glad, however, that Jason Castro did a brilliant cover of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”. I’ve never really thought he had beaten his Daydream performance during top 24, until now. BRILLIANT! Love, love, looooove Jason Castro and his $600 ukulele.

Back to last night, after Idol Gives Back closed, I spent some time trying to connect to the Internet as if my life depended on it. LOL. In retrospect, it was quite all right. Because I ended up reading up on a few books. I finished just one, titled Hex And The Single Girl by Valerie Frankel. Loved it, light, and funny. Just the right ingredients for a good book, in my opinion.

Going to have an early night tonight, so I better start right on it.

Hurts to want everything and nothing at the same time

Today was my last day at The Company. I was willing myself not to cry and not say goodbye. And say goodbye I didn’t. I initially wanted to go around the office and say goodbye to everyone, but I had so much work to finish, I ended up swamped in my work desk.

Hopefully, I’ll see them this Saturday afternoon and I’ll bid them farewell.

I really am sad that I’m leaving as I have made some good friends there. I’ll miss my team, they can crack me up at the most groggiest of days. I’ll miss a lot about The Company.

Frown

On a brighter note, I’ll be going for a long-overdue lunch with my girl friends at The Mall tomorrow. Which should be really, really good. I’ll see if the other girls want to do something else other than just lunch. Hm.

Oh, and the girls on American Idol this week bored the socks off me.

A lot of things not music

Wow. OK, no. Jason Castro wasn’t so bad this week. Although he was better last week. What I liked about this week was his interview! Go on, click and watch (if you haven’t.)

So adorable.

Whenever I can

I watched American Idol tonight, it was the boys’ turn again. Ten of them performed, I only managed to catch six as I returned home from work late because of Knowledge Sharing (a mid-weekly thing that The Company has every last hour of the working day.) But! I thought, out of the six, David Archuleta was the best. He performed brilliantly, and I think his vocals were amazing!

Loved it, absolutely loved it. He came to my attention only during Hollywood week, because I missed the San Diego auditions where he sang John Mayer’s Waiting On The World To Change. If you missed it too, here’s a video from Hollywood week, with a clip from his first audition.

I didn’t watch Jason Castro perform this week (and I can’t be bothered to watch the re-run), but judging by the recap, I didn’t think he did as good as he did last week.

On to another topic: tomorrow’s my last day at The Company, and I start at the new place on Saturday. People are wondering why I’m not taking a break. I personally think that if I take this Saturday off, and have a long weekend, I’ll be extra nervous about starting new. It’s unbelievable, though. The things that I need to be mentally prepared for.

I think physically, I’m fine, because I wasn’t unemployed for long months and early mornings are like nothing, so.. I think I’m going to be all right.

Can you just hear me pepping myself up? LOL.

Speaking of work, The Company had an event called Movie Outing Weekend (or other) on last Sunday afternoon, and we watched Vantage Point at The Empire cinema. I brought my sister along as my plus one, and it was great. I had a great time. The day before, on a Saturday night (Brunei’s 24th National Day), my family and I watched Jumper, also at The Empire cinema. There were a total of 30 — initially 26 — of us. When we called the cinema up to book for tickets, he asked in a disbelieving yet serious tone, roughly translated from Malay to English, “Are you serious? Are you serious to book 20 tickets?”

And I said, in an equally serious tone, “Yes. Adults. And six children.” And he just had to ask again. And again. And he didn’t stop until I promised him that I will be there to collect the tickets in 15 to 30 minutes. LOL. I still find it funny until today.

“Banar kah ni kan booking 20 tickets? Banar kah?”

ROFL. FUN-NEE.

Both movies were great, I loved Jumper, and I don’t know why people felt it was incomplete. I think it was the lack of information of how Jumpers came about, and Paladins. And the sort. I loved it, nonetheless. I give Jumper 4 out of 5 stars, Vantage point 3.5 out of 5 stars. (Ooh. So I rate movies. So sue me. LOL.)

I’m going to head to bed and get some rest. I happen to be having a tiring week, what with the boyfriend being away. Funny. He was always away, but seeing that he’s in another country, he’s just.. farther away? *shrugs*

What I do know, is that I miss him loads. Frown

I think I need to see more David Archuleta videos. His singing cheers me up.

What a day for a daydream

I’m a bit too lazy to post pictures of the Singapore trip as they are too many of them, but here’s the link to the two albums. They are all in chronological order. Heehee. Lazy bum, I am.

What I really want to do is share with you this song I loved from the top 12 guys performances this week on American Idol. I liked the two Davids, though David Hernandez didn’t stand out this week. I also liked Michael Johns, but I loved him most when he sang Bohemian Rhapsody on Hollywood week. He made me sing, too!! “MAMAAAAAAAA!!”

LOL. Only in the comforts of my own home. (I just realized the last paragraph was ‘week’ overkill.)

But the performance that I really loved was of Jason Castro’s. When he appeared to be in the top 24 during Hollywood week, I went, “HUH? Who IS this guy?”

Jason Castro

Then when he was on that stage with that guitar, he was brilliant! Not too keen on the hair, though. Can only imagine how he keeps his head clean. The length of his dreadlocks and his eyes remind me of Gil Ofarim somehow.

So here’s the one song I want to share with my readers. Click play.

Sniff

I’m back from my Singapore trip, and an eventful one it has been. Since there were about n number of us, there were n-1 number of characters to handle. Nya orang Brunei, macam-macam ulah kan di liat!

I had a great time. Although, upon touching Brunei soil on Wednesday, I got sick. And I am still sick. So, pictures will have to wait.

Other than the trip, I managed to catch the finale of The Amazing Race Asia 2, (WARNING: SPOILER!) and I cannot believe Marc and Rovilson ended up THIRD!! I so wanted them to win, and they were leading pretty much all of the way. Sigh.
